Full Job Description
We are seeking an FPGA Design Engineer in our Broomfield, CO, Location.

In this role, you will lead the development of FPGA designs for our Apollo quantum computer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FPGA development with expertise in System Verilog, simulation, synthesis, placing, and routing designs. The individual in this role will be primarily focused on the core digital control system, which facilitates the precise coordination of a large amount of electronics required to operate our quantum computers. Projects may include interfacing with DACs/ADCs and DDRx memory, digital filtering and signal processing, digital control loops, and data formatting. Candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, multi-functional team-based environment with challenging technical obstacles to overcome where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with an integrated product team consisting of PCB designers, software engineers, & mechanical engineers to architect, prototype, design, and implement the control systems for our Quantum computers.
  • Perform FPGA design, simulation, and verification
  • Understand system-level interaction of control loops consisting of a large quantity of digital, analog, and RF signals.
  • Provide technical expertise that informs future product development and process improvements across the organization.
  • Deliver products and achieve program goals in an R&D and rapid prototyping environment.


YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree minimum
  • Minimum 6+ years of industry experience in an engineering or R&D environment.
  • Minimum 5+ years of industry experience developing FPGA's
  • Minimum 2+ years of industry experience working in a lab
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.


WE VALUE:

  • Masters/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in the specification, development, and validation of complex electronic products.
  • Demonstrated technical excellence and leadership in FPGA design and verification including Xilinx software and IP, as well as a mastery of System Verilog, Verilog, and VHDL.
  • Verification and simulation experience with QuestaSim, VIP, cocotb, and related tools.
  • Embedded software experience, especially involving Zynq Ultrascale+ FPGAs and processors.
  • Background in developing system architecture and conceptualization in continuous integration development flows
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to lead by example through execution of programmatic goals, consistently demonstrating decisive business impact, and continuously driving for improvement in a rapidly changing environment.


$135,000 - $181,000 a year

Compensation & Benefits:

The pay range for this role is $135,000- $181,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate's skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
