Full Job Description
The Role

We're looking for a senior Product Manager to be the person who owns how Altro ships. You'll report to our COO and work closely with our CEO and CTO to translate vision into product, and be the operating spine that gets the right things built, well and fast.

This is a senior seat with founding-team energy. You've been an early PM before - either as a founding PM or one of the first 3-5 PMs at a fast-moving startup - and you're bringing that pattern recognition to Altro.

We're looking for:
  • Business intuition and EQ. You understand why products succeed or fail, not just what to ship. You read customers, teammates, and market dynamics accurately, and you make product calls that reflect all of it.
  • AI fluency as table stakes. You use AI tools daily and know where they compound your output. Not a buzzword, not a bullet point - it's how you work.
  • Marketplace or e-commerce DNA. You've built for two-sided models, transaction flows, supply-and-demand dynamics, or seller/buyer experiences. You know the shape of these problems.
  • Real technical depth. You can scope engineering work, write specs engineers and AI agents can build from, and make technical trade-off calls without needing an eng lead to translate.

This is a high-ownership, high-context role. If you thrive in environments where you can execute against a clear vision, shape how things get built, and use every tool available to move faster, this is for you.

If you're looking for a structured PM role at a mature company or big tech, this isn't it.
What You'll Do
  • Drive product execution against the founder-set roadmap, ensuring we ship the right things at the right pace
  • Own the two-sided experience. Balance the needs of wellness partners and end consumers, and make the trade-off calls when they conflict
  • Scope projects with technical depth, understanding architecture, dependencies, and engineering trade-offs
  • Write PRDs, user stories, and technical specs that give engineering what they need to build, leveraging AI to accelerate drafting, edge-case analysis, and review
  • Use AI in your own workflow for research, customer call synthesis, PRD drafting, competitive analysis, mockups, data exploration, customer demos, and anything else that compounds your output
  • Partner with our CTO on technical decisions and have hard conversations about scope, architecture, and feasibility
  • Talk to customers (wellness operators, end consumers, clinicians) regularly to gather insights and feed them back into product decisions
  • Run sprints, leading planning, standups, and retros to keep the team moving
  • Collaborate closely with our design team on UX and product flow
  • Coordinate across stakeholders (clinical ops, sales, partnerships) to align product priorities with business needs
  • Define and track product metrics to measure what's working

Requirements
Who You Are
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with founding PM or very-early-PM experience at a fast-moving startup. Not big tech.
  • Marketplace or e-commerce background. You've built products where two sides need to succeed at once, or where transaction flows and supply-demand dynamics shape the whole system.
  • High EQ and business intuition. You read customers and teammates well, understand what drives business outcomes, and make decisions that reflect both.
  • AI-native. You use AI tools daily, you've experimented with the major models, you know what they're good at and where they break. You see AI as leverage, not a feature to ship.
  • Technical depth. CS degree, prior engineering experience, or equivalent. You can read code, understand system design, and scope engineering work accurately.
  • Comfortable in technical conversations. You can debate architecture trade-offs with engineers and push back when something is over- or under-scoped.
  • Execution-focused. You're energized by shipping, not by debating strategy in the abstract.
  • Entrepreneurial. You spot opportunities, scope solutions, and drive things to completion without being told.
  • Fast and pragmatic. Comfortable making decisions with imperfect information, shipping MVPs, and iterating.
  • Strong communicator. You can translate between engineering, design, and business stakeholders cleanly.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. Early-stage means priorities shift and you'll be building the process while running it.

Healthcare or wellness experience is not required - we'll teach you the industry if you bring the skills.
Logistics
  • Location: New York City
  • Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days in-office, remainder remote
  • Reports to: CEO

Benefits
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $170,000 - $200,000, depending on experience
  • Equity: Meaningful founding-team equity grant
  • Health benefits: Medical, dental, and vision (100% covered by Altro)
  • Commuter benefits
  • One Medical membership
  • Peloton Digital membership
  • Learning and development budget
  • $150 monthly reimbursement for Altro products
Why This Role

This is a senior seat on a small team at a seed-stage company with a real wedge into a growing market and the resources to scale fast. You'll have the autonomy to drive how Altro builds, proximity to founders to learn directly from experienced operators, and equity to participate in the upside as we grow.

You'll also be doing it at the most interesting moment in tech in a decade, when AI is reshaping what a small team can build. The PM who joins now will help define how Altro uses that leverage.
