The Role We're looking for Outset's
Founding Full-Stack Designer - someone who blends exceptional design craft with sharp product instincts. This is not a pixel-pushing role. It's a chance to define an entirely new category, shaping how the world understands and builds for humans.
As our founding designer, you will:
- Own the end-to-end design process, from UX flows to polished UI, delivering experiences that delight customers.
- Partner directly with Outset's founders to shape product direction and design strategy from the ground up.
- Work incredibly closely with design and research leaders at some of the world's biggest brands, building products that directly impact how they innovate.
- Translate customer needs into elegant, impactful product solutions with speed and precision.
- Move fast - balancing high-quality craft with rapid iteration.
- Champion the customer perspective in internal decision-making, helping the team prioritize what matters most.
- Establish design systems, patterns, and processes to scale as we grow.

What we're looking for - 5+ years of product design experience, ideally at startups or scrappy teams where you wore many hats and often did what might traditionally be considered product work.
- Proven mastery in UI/UX design, with a portfolio that demonstrates taste, craft, and execution speed.
- Strong product sense - you instinctively know how design decisions shape outcomes and customer impact.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to concisely explain tradeoffs and decisions.
- An executional spirit - you want to make the design a reality fast, no matter what it takes.
- Bonus: Experience with user research, analytics, or AI-driven products.
