This well-established Series B start-up are seeking an experienced iOS Engineer to own the iOS function within the business!

About the Founding iOS Engineer Vacancy:

The Founding iOS Engineer will be building the next iteration Native iOS experience from scratch.

This is a great opportunity to specify the technological direction, user experience, engineering standards, and architecture of a new native iOS app at a firm with significant product complexity, real scale, and tremendous momentum.

They are not looking for a person to just implement tickets, rather they need an engineer with a product mindset, engineering prowess, high standards when it comes to craft - in other words they need someone to help them define what mobile should be at the company for years to come.

Working closely with other tech teams (Product, Design, Back-End, Data) and the company leadership team.

Everything from architecture and developer experience to app speed, dependability, analytics, and release quality will be in your complete control.

Additionally, you will contribute to the development of the iOS team and engineering culture around you as well as their larger mobile app strategy.

Your Tasks:
• Own the iOS app end-to-end across core marketplace flows
• Create a top-notch native iOS codebase from scratch, taking into account CI/CD, architecture, state management, networking, observability, testing strategy, and release procedures.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design to create mobile experiences that are user-friendly, polished, reliable, and meticulously detailed.
• Help define their mobile app strategy, including where mobile should lead, how it should differentiate from web, and where it can create the most leverage for the business.

Ideal Requirements for the Founding iOS Engineer Vacancy:

iOS: Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit

Working in Native mobile environments

Testing: XCTest, UI testing, CI/CD pipelines
• Several years building production iOS applications with meaningful consumer-facing scale, quality, and complexity.
• Strong command of Swift and modern iOS development patterns.
• Experience building polished native experiences with strong attention to performance, usability, animation, responsiveness, and edge cases.
• You have led a sizable iOS codebase and had an impact on architectural choices.
• You care deeply about product quality and can translate complex states and workflows into simple, elegant user experiences.
• You feel at ease collaborating closely with backend engineers on systems tradeoffs, data contracts, and APIs.
• You are energized by zero-to-one work and want real ownership, not a narrow lane.
• Ideally, you've worked on high-quality consumer products at top engineering organizations or elite startups where the bar for craft and execution is exceptionally high.
