Full Job Description
About the Role

The Network & Client Services team is the engine of the Altis research process. As the Founding Director, you'll build our client service function from the ground up. You'll own the most important relationships we have: our clients. You'll make sure they're gaining real value from our work, deepening their engagement over time, and surfacing commercial opportunities that grow the relationship. This is not a support role. You're the primary point of contact for our portfolio of clients, responsible for retention, expansion, and the overall health of each relationship.

What We're Looking For

You're a relationship-driven operator who wants real ownership early. You'll be a fit if:
  • You're excited by the idea of managing and developing a team early in your career
  • You thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • You're a natural relationship builder who can operate with equal credibility across junior analysts and senior partners at top-tier venture funds
  • You're proactive and organized, comfortable managing a large portfolio without letting accounts go cold
  • You can toggle between the strategic and the tactical - building long-term relationships while executing the details that make them work

What You'll Do

Commercial - own your book of business
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of our venture capital clients
  • Build deep familiarity with each firm's investment thesis, priorities, and team structure so you can deliver relevant value proactively
  • Conduct regular client check-ins, QBRs, and introductions to maintain strong engagement and surface needs before they become problems
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts, including multi-seat expansions, upgraded access tiers, and new use cases
  • Articulate patterns across your book of business, sharing feedback, unmet needs, and product gaps with the leadership and product teams

Managerial - own your talent
  • Interview, onboard, and upskill your team of Associates to meet demand
  • Set and uphold performance standards for your team, serving as the first line of defense for quality control
  • Collaborate daily with the research team to align on priorities and hit deadlines

Requirements
  • 2+ years in account management, client success, or relationship management in a B2B environment
  • Demonstrated ability to retain and expand revenue within a book of business in a metrics-driven environment
  • Strong communicator - clear, confident, and credible in front of sophisticated audiences
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, technology, and what makes companies succeed or fail
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Bonus points for:
  • Prior experience working with or selling into venture capital, private equity, or financial services clients
  • Background in expert networks, knowledge services, or data/research platforms (AlphaSights, GLG, Tegus, PitchBook, etc.)
  • Existing relationships within the VC community
  • Experience managing, coaching, or training others

Compensation & Benefits
  • $130,000-$155,000 base compensation
  • Additional performance-based variable compensation
  • Significant pre-Series A equity (early-employee restricted stock)
  • 100% employer-paid health benefits
  • Free lunch in-office
  • New York City - in-office 4 days/week
