You are We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Forward Deployed Engineer to join our team in designing, developing, and deploying custom applications for our diverse clientele. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in Linux, modern web applications, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices, and can communicate effectively with highly technical users across a range of technical topics.
You will contribute to the development and deployment of cloud-native solutions, work with established technical patterns and architectures, and help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across application and infrastructure environments. You should be comfortable learning new technologies, working collaboratively with more experienced engineers, and applying your technical skills to solve complex client problems.
The Work You (Forward Deployed Engineer) will contribute to the design, development, deployment, and operational management of custom web applications across AWS, Azure, and On-Prem environments.
You will help users configure, manage, and optimize custom APIs and datasets, and contribute to cloud infrastructure deployment and maintenance using IaC tools such as Terraform and AWS CDK.
You will troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, optimize system performance, and work directly with technical users to provide support and guidance. You will collaborate with clients, internal teams, and more experienced engineers to develop and implement technical solutions.
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Here's what you need - Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of full-stack engineering w/ minimum of 1 year experience with at least four of the following: Linux Systems Administration, Python, Docker / Kubernetes, or a modern JavaScript framework (like React or NodeJS), DevOps.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a platform engineering or developer role.
- Minimum of 3 months of experience with IaC tools, e.g. Terraform.
Professional Skills Requirements- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, internal teams, and more experienced engineers to develop and troubleshoot technical solutions.
Bonus points if you have - Experience in developing solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Model (LLM), or High-Performance Computing (HPC)
- Experience with Data Engineering or Data Science
- Strong proficiency in Linux, with a deep understanding of operating systems at the kernel level
- Knowledge of AWS services, particularly EC2, Lambda, EKS, and Fargate
- Experience with full-stack application development, particularly using cloud provider APIs
- Experience developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure with Terraform
- Experience with Conda and managing Python environments.
