The NDSH is seeking an ambitious and determined
Psychologist who has experience conducting assessments and providing treatment services to those with serious persistent mental illness. Among other duties, you will be responsible to provide court testimony and serve as an expert witness in court-related legal activities as well as have the ability to use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement, identify innovative solutions, and solve complex problems and communicate difficult concepts.
Experience in forensic assessment and conducting evaluations is advantageous to succeed in this position. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team who will encourage and support you to continue to grow professionally up to and including continuing the path to becoming the Clinical Director. NDSH is a teaching site for the Department of Psychology, University of North Dakota School of Medicine and also works with students from the School of Pharmacy, North Dakota State University. If selected, you will have the opportunity to work with staff members ranging in experience from recent completion of doctoral programs and internships to those with decades of experience with the severely mentally ill.
To be considered for this position, you will require a Doctorate in Psychology and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners, according to North Dakota Century Code Chapter 43-32, and two-years' experience as a Licensed Psychologist.
If unable to find qualified candidates, will consider filling this position with a
Licensed Psychologist I, which requires a Doctorate in Psychology and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners, according to North Dakota Century Code Chapter 43-32.
If unable to find fully licensed candidates, will consider filling this position with a qualified
Psychology Resident, which requires a doctorate degree in psychology and eligibility for a supervised psychological residency as determined by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners. Interested applicants should go to the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards ( www.asppb.net ) and review the Psychology Licensure Universal System (PLUS). HHS provides a supportive and full-bodied training environment for a psychology resident or newly licensed psychologist. In addition to Board-approved supervision on site, HHS psychologists are frequently in communication, offering training and consultation, resulting in the sharing of knowledge and expertise. The training, consultation, and knowledge sharing provided by HHS psychologists contributes to the development of evaluation skills that are essential in specialty areas of expertise, such as those used in completing psychological evaluations required through ND Century Code within HHS.
