Overview

We are seeking a skilled Foreman/Security Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of enterprise-level access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems in medium and large commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage project progression on job sites, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
    • Direct and manage a team of low voltage technicians by assigning tasks, providing guidance and mentorship, and ensuring work is completed according to specifications and schedule.
    • Coordinate with other subcontractors, including electrical contractors, general contractors, and end users, to ensure smooth project execution and resolve field conflicts.
    • Review job files, project plans, and documentation to identify potential issues and implement effective solutions.
    • Manage project MRFs, schedules, materials, and resources, ensuring tasks are completed on time and within budget.
    • Oversee the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage systems, including structured cabling, access control, CCTV, intrusion, fire alarm, and other related systems and equipment.
    • Evaluate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to low voltage systems, collaborating with technicians and project management to develop and implement effective solutions.
    • Enforce safety protocols and procedures on job sites, ensuring the safety of all personnel and compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, building foremen, subcontractors, and team members, providing regular project updates and addressing questions or concerns.
    • Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure installations meet industry standards, project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and customer expectations.
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including project documentation, reports, schedules, service records, and maintenance logs.
    • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to low voltage technicians to improve technical skills, installation practices, troubleshooting capabilities, and overall job performance.
    • Manage and maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment required for project installation and completion.
    • Identify out-of-scope requests and notify project management of potential change orders, additional materials, labor requirements, or schedule impacts.
    • Execute installation project plans, including material coordination, installation, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and project closeout, to exceed customer expectations.
    • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/system programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
    • Complete required company paperwork and communicate project status, field conditions, material requirements, and potential issues effectively to project management.


Qualifications
• Preferred manufacturer certifications in the following areas:
• Video Surveillance: Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone, Bosch, Axis, Hanwha, Exacq.
• Access Control: Lenel, Software House, Avigilon, Genetec, Identiv, Honeywell, Open Path, RS2, S2, AMAG, Gallagher, Open Options.
• Intrusion: DMP, DSC, Honeywell, Bosch.
• Locking Hardware: Maglocks, Strikes, Mortise, Cylindrical, ADA applications.
• Industry experience working with access control, video surveillance, and intrusion systems.
• Experience in sectors such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, utilities, financial, and hospitality.
• Proficiency in data terminations.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Applicants must meet requirements related to background and driving records.
• Proficient in the use and application of industry-related equipment, including MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
• Ability to explain and demonstrate the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work from ladders or man lifts at extended heights.
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
• Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
• Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools as required, and lifting up to 75 lbs.

Pay Range

USD $40.00 - USD $48.00 /Hr.
