Fire Protection - Field Operations Manager

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Field Operations Director in executing field operations strategies across assigned projects.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between field leadership and project teams to ensure alignment with project goals, schedules, and client expectations.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings, providing input on manpower, equipment needs, subcontractor coordination, and field execution plans.
  • Review project documents, drawings, schedules, and scopes to prepare for effective field execution.
  • Coordinate manpower planning with superintendents and field leaders; communicate and facilitate staffing needs to the Field Operations Director.
  • Monitor field productivity, safety, quality, and schedule performance across assigned jobs.
  • Review and analyze field documentation including daily reports, lookahead schedules, site inspections, and KPIs.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with Mullins Mechanical safety policies, site-specific plans, and OSHA requirements.
  • Lead or support safety meetings, toolbox talks, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs/MSAs), and incident investigations.
  • Perform field quality audits to verify installations meet company standards and assist with corrective action plans as needed.
  • Coordinate equipment delivery, usage, maintenance, and calibration to ensure uninterrupted field operations.
  • Assist in tracking project progress, identifying potential delays, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate feedback from field teams with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve issues and improve execution.
  • Support project closeout activities, ensuring field documentation and punch lists are completed accurately and timely.
  • Participate in lessons-learned meetings and provide feedback to improve future project planning and execution.
  • Mentor and support superintendents, foremen, and field staff through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement in field operations.
  • Ensure proper timekeeping, attendance tracking, and cost code usage for assigned field personnel.
  • Support the Field Operations Director during audits, reviews, and leadership meetings as required.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve.


Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership role in a self-performing construction environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical construction operations, safety standards, and quality control processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate manpower, equipment, and field resources across multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools.
  • Ability to effectively lead, mentor, and collaborate with field and project management teams.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites as needed.


Qualifications
  • Previous experience and proven track record as a construction Senior Superintendent for a trade Mullins self-performs, or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and health guidelines for construction job sites
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
  • Bilingual (Spanaish) is a plus
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally

  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Prior experience managing multiple Superintendents required
