Financial Systems Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a Techno-Functional Business Analyst with experience in Finance and Accounting processes and strong expertise in analytics and reporting. This position sits in the Accounting department and serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. The ideal candidate understands financial reporting, management reporting, period and year-end close processes, and accounting data structures. This role will partner with Accounting and Technical leaders to design system and reporting solutions that improve decision-making, transparency, and operational efficiency. Other key requirements are:

• Resourceful in overcoming obstacles and taking initiative.
• Highly proactive, able to work independently, and excels in written communication.

This role is based in Dallas (Coppell), TX and follows a hybrid schedule (3 days in office). We are currently focused on local candidates or those open to relocating to the area at their own expense. At this time, we are unable to provide sponsorship support.

What You'll Do
• Financial System experience utilizing multiple technical platforms with heavy emphasis on ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics).
• Serve as a primary point of contact to Accounting for troubleshooting and resolving functional issues.

o Investigating system errors, analyzing data discrepancies, and providing solutions.

o Conduct root cause analysis, collaborate with IT on permanent fixes.

o Develop and execute test cases. Validate fixes and resolutions.

o Communicate updates to stakeholders.

o Support users during testing.

Create end-user documentation.
• Ability to identify and analyze emerging issues, think strategically, make sound judgements, and translate solutions into actionable plans for process or financial system enhancements.
• Facilitate workshops to gather and translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications. This would include defining reporting needs, business rules, and data definitions to create detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flows.
• Has Accounting and Business knowledge with technical aptitude to understand integrations, configurations, and system functionality.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand business processes, reporting needs, KPIs, and control requirements to identify opportunities and implement improvements.
• Drive adoption of reporting by improving usability, standardization and trust in data.

o Design impactful dashboards, translate business needs into analytical solutions, and ensure high-quality data insights.

o Work closely with data engineers and developers on data models and integrations.

o Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting systems.

o Provide training and support to business users on reporting tools and dashboards

What You Bring to the Team
• 5+ years in Business / Techno-Functional Analyst roles.
• 3+ years supporting Finance and Accounting reporting.
• 3+ years' experience supporting Oracle Financial Cloud applications (FA, AP, GL, AR) preferred.
• Restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience a plus.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, and business requirements documentation.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting structures, and management reporting. • Detail-oriented with strong documentation, testing, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and operate independently.
• Understanding of audit and compliance.
• Data-driven mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.
• Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
