Full Job Description
The Oracles sit at the heart of Spotify's financial infrastructure, building and evolving the systems that power our subledger and accounting lifecycle. From accruals to reconciliation and ledger integrations, the team is driving a broader FinE initiative to standardize and scale how accounting flows across Spotify. You'll work closely with engineers, finance partners, and product teams to bring clarity, speed, and accuracy to complex financial systems.

What You'll Do

  • Act as the embedded accounting domain expert within Financial Engineering R&D, contributing to day-to-day product and engineering decisions
  • Guide system and product design to ensure accounting best practices and controls are built into the foundation
  • Translate complex accounting requirements into scalable, structured system inputs across the subledger lifecycle
  • Partner closely with engineers and product teams to shape flows for accruals, adjustments, reconciliation, and rebooking
  • Contribute to the development lifecycle by informing, prototyping, and validating solutions for our core accounting platform
  • Analyze existing accounting flows to separate core requirements from legacy technical constraints
  • Help define and standardize accounting logic across systems like MoneyBooker, IOU Batcher, and NetSuite integrations
  • Break down ambiguous financial and technical challenges into simple, practical solutions


Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in operational or technical accounting within a medium to large organization
  • You have a strong understanding of accrual-based accounting, subledger processes, and accounting best practices
  • You are experienced in partnering with technical teams and can clearly communicate accounting concepts in a systems context
  • You are comfortable working in data-driven or system-heavy environments and are curious about how systems operate
  • You bring a structured, analytical approach to problem solving and are comfortable navigating ambiguity
  • You have experience working with ERP systems, with NetSuite as a plus
  • You are interested in developing your technical skillset and working more closely with engineering
  • You enjoy working at the intersection of finance, systems, and product in evolving environments


Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in Toronto.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in-person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.


The Canada base range for this position is $109,779.00-156,827.00 CAD plus equity. Benefits available for this position include extended health and dental coverage, retirement savings plans, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, and other benefits in accordance with Canadian employment standards. These ranges and benefits may be modified in the future.
