The Impact you will have in this role:

The Director, FP&A - IT Portfolio Investments is responsible for financial leadership, governance, and strategic insight across the company's technology investment portfolio. This role partners closely with IT, product, and enterprise finance leaders to optimize capital and manage operating expenses, ensure disciplined investment decisions, and support long term technology strategy through rigorous financial analysis, planning, and performance management. The Director will oversee technology investment planning and prioritization, while enabling data-driven decision-making across business and functional stakeholders.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

IT Portfolio & Investment Management
  • Serve as the primary finance partner for IT leadership on technology investment strategy, portfolio planning, and funding decisions
  • Provide financial insight to support enterprise technology roadmaps and innovation priorities
  • Translate technology strategy into multi year financial plans aligned with enterprise objectives
  • Lead financial oversight of the IT investment portfolio including demand planning, prioritization, business case evaluation, and funding governance
  • Establish and maintain a financial governance framework for the IT project and application portfolio
  • Partner with IT leadership to evaluate business cases, ROI, and total cost of ownership for capital and operating investments
  • Monitor portfolio performance against funding approvals, milestones, and value realization targets
  • Drive prioritization and reallocation of funds based on strategic alignment, risk, and performance

Performance Management & Reporting
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to IT leadership and a role model for strong business partnership
  • Establish consistent planning, forecasting, and reporting standards to drive cost transparency across all areas of the IT portfolio
  • Monitor portfolio performance against financial and strategic objectives, perform variance analysis and trend monitoring to identify opportunities, tradeoffs and reallocation opportunities
  • Develop and deliver executive level financial reporting on IT portfolio spending, productivity and investment outcomes
  • Identify and execute opportunities for cost savings, demand management, and spend rationalization


Strategic Planning & Financial Leadership
  • Own the annual budget, long range plan, and rolling forecast processes for IT investments and run the business spend
  • Partner with the Enterprise Transformation (ET) team to support portfolio prioritization and funding decisions and to ensure the portfolio accurately represents the capacity of IT demand departments
  • Translate business and technology strategies into clear financial implications, trade offs, and decision-ready recommendations
  • Support executive management with forward looking insights on cost trends, capacity, and funding requirements
  • Represent the FP&A team in governance forums and working groups related to enterprise-wide portfolio investment planning and execution
  • Support the preparation of IT portfolio materials for the Investment Management Committee, the Executive Committee, and/or the Board of Directors

To be successful in this role, the candidate requires the ability to operate both at a high level (such as summary/executive reporting and context-setting) but also the technical depth to work at a detailed level within applicable academic finance frameworks and techniques (s). Guiding and influencing others in understanding complex situations and achieving success through well-informed decisions is critical.

This role has exposure and access to senior management and requires significant financial strategy development experience, research, and analytical capabilities, strong storytelling skills, and meeting facilitation skills. This role requires an intellectually curious and tenacious mentality as well as strong emotional and intellectual IQ, influencing skills, and courage to speak their mind.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred with Masters or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, reporting standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, setting priorities and managing multiple workstreams
  • Experience using ERP systems, financial analysis and related reporting systems. Knowledge of Oracle platform is a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis and application of evaluation methodologies.
  • Strong data visualization and presentation skills
  • Capital markets (especially post-trade) industry knowledge is a plus


The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
