What you can expect as a Financial Operations Manager at West Star:
As a Financial Operations Manager, you can expect a highly visible, fast-paced, and cross-functional leadership role that directly bridges the gap between daily facility operations and corporate financial strategy.
You will act as the critical financial "copilot" for our local leadership team while serving as a strategic extension of corporate finance. Your core mission is to protect operating margins, eliminate labor inefficiencies, and drive financial accountability across all department heads. This is not a back-office accounting role-you will be deeply embedded in the business, translating daily operational data into actionable cost-savings and long-term profitability.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
Provide analysis of all KPIs against objectives on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Examples are below but not exhaustive.
- Billed Hour / Effective labor rate variances
- Overtime analysis with realized rate impact.
- Tracking of unutilized labor with root cause analysis
- Cost drivers and trending overtime for analysis to aid in YoY margin opportunities
- Support customer required metric tracking
- Support each VP/GMs/Program Managers in analyzing their budgets and identifying cost savings opportunities.
Coordinate process improvement initiatives with Management and Director of FP&A
- Chair weekly/monthly meeting with VP/GMs/Program Managers for understanding and improvement of:
- Meet monthly with each department manager to go over their total spending for the month and assist them in managing their functions within the approved budget.
Provide financial leadership to the VP/GMs/Program Manager team with respect to:
- Annual Budget preparation and communication with Director of FP&A and Corporate Controller
- Revenue/EBITDA Weekly/Monthly/Rolling forecasts
- Identifying and executing cost reduction initiatives
Coordinate Facility functions with Corporate FP&A processes and requirements
- Reports to Corporate Director of FP&A for:
- Integrity and consistency of reporting data and processes
- Consistent analysis of operational data and variances
- Consistency of KPI reporting for Corporate dashboards
Monthly analysis of Operational results for financial reporting
Dotted line responsibility to the Facility VP/General Manager for capital project analysis & tracking Analysis of actual results versus budget for all cost areas Capacity planning / scheduling.
What you'll need to bring with you:
Your Education:
Accounting, finance, business or technical-related bachelor's degree.
A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not required.
Your Experience:
At least seven years of related work experience and progressive responsibilities.
Strong background in accounting coupled with analysis skills to help develop recommendations and present the business "story".
Extensive experience working with production ERP systems and financial analysis software.
Superior MS Excel and analytical skills.

Personal computer operating with Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Corridor and various cost and scheduling programs. Fax machine, telephone and photocopier.
Compensation & Benefit Information The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The salary range for this position generally ranges between $110K - $135K. Actual rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation time.
