This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Financial Analyst for our Funding and Financing Strategy Service group in our New York City office. The following locations will also be considered: Atlanta, Washington D.C., Chicago, Boston, Denver, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, and open to other offices.

Be involved in projects with our Advisory Services and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

The Financial Analyst role is a position within the Economics, Finance and Grants team, which offers great opportunities for professional growth. You will work directly with and private organizations across the country to fund and finance their infrastructure projects and initiatives, driving both project delivery and business development for the group.
Your Impact
  • Develop funding and financing strategies across all end markets
  • Develop and review financial models
  • Perform quantitative analyses and data analytics
  • Analyze financial needs and opportunities for public agencies
  • Analyze project and program funding and financing options
  • Research funding and financing industry trends
  • Evaluate funding and financing alternatives and priorities
  • Develop business cases for infrastructure investments
  • Develop reports, memoranda, and client-ready documentation
  • Support client meetings and workshops
  • Track, review, and interpret federal legislation and guidance
  • Provide strategic support across all phases of infrastructure planning and project development
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Experience supporting and delivering projects
  • Strong understanding of inflation and cost drivers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated research skills and experience
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently, and deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight
  • Ability to lead teams, synthesize complex problems, and communicate points of view and analytical results
  • Ability to manage time efficiently while supporting multiple projects in parallel
  • Experience in transportation, infrastructure, and related sectors
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in finance, planning, public policy, or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with the financial aspects and challenges of energy, water, property and buildings, mining, and other infrastructure sectors
  • Strong understanding of federal and state infrastructure policy and funding programs
  • Experience with strategic planning

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $89,600 - $156,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $89,600 - $130,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
