Key ResponsibilitiesThe Financial Analyst will perform any number of the following:
Financial & Strategic Analysis- Create, interpret, and analyze financial statements, models, and other financial data to support decision making.
- Conduct analysis in areas such as:
- Department performance
- Profitability and product/loan performance
- Cost analysis
- Pricing and valuation
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Financial modeling and scenario analysis
- KPI reporting and ad-hoc analytics
- Evaluate business transactions, planning cycle activities, and financial outcomes with clear, concise analysis.
Incentive Compensation Analytics- Serve as a subject-matter expert on financial metrics that drive incentive compensation plans.
- Analyze plan performance, model payout impacts, ensure compliance with policies, and provide insights to leadership.
- Partner with business units to support design, implementation, and administration of incentive programs for large employee populations.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement- Work closely with leaders across finance, business lines, business intelligence, and affiliates.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity and confidence.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure alignment between financial strategies and business objectives.
Process Improvement & Innovation- Drive business process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and automation.
- Identify data issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement solutions.
QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- 4-6+ years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, analytics, or incentive compensation.
- Experience in financial services or mid-to-large financial institutions preferred.
Skills & Competencies- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop financial models and produce accurate, well-structured reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences-from front-line bankers to executives.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in deadline-driven environments.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Strong initiative and drive for continuous improvement.
Technical Proficiency- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; strong PowerPoint and Word capabilities.
- Experience with SQL, Power BI, Business Objects, or Python highly preferred.
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase, SmartView, Financial Reporting Studio, or similar planning/reporting tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with data visualization and business intelligence tools desirable.
