Financial Analyst, Sr
Position is primarily responsible for supporting the accurate, timely and efficient processing of provider compensation to include base pay, shift/hourly pay, incentives and any other cash compensation to providers. This may be accomplished through direct analysis and/or the development and support of systems designed to promote accurate and timely payroll. Position will ensure all payments align with contract terms and will coordinate and perform periodic audits and reconciliations as assigned. Additionally, this position may be responsible for evaluating and monitoring provider initiatives as they relate to contracting, compensation, strategic planning, efficiency & recruitment/retention. Additionally, the position may be responsible for coordinating compensation valuations and the commercial reasonableness documentation of arrangements with providers. Expectation is for the development of best practice approaches to carry out responsibilities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. In addition, the position will ensure achievement of a cost-effective balance between provider resource needs, costs, and efficiency in support of the achievement of the strategic business plan for each service line of the health system.
Interaction with service line management, Physician Arrangements Review Committee, and senior management is critically important to fulfilling responsibilities.
The position may also review and/or develop financial evaluations of proposed physician practice acquisitions, including ROI, pay-back period, and similar financial performance measurements. The position may assist with the production of decision support materials related to the operations and initiatives of the physician services service lines as well as leading the thought processes supported by these materials and provides leadership as appropriate for the purpose of achieving system goals and benchmarks.
The position assists management with the strategic development, implementation and ongoing management initiatives relating to provider services, and other areas as assigned. The position will assist in identifying efficiency gains as related to processes and procedures to include the development and implementation of solutions. These processes may be related to information technology, other workflows, or other areas as appropriate.
As directed, the position will support the business review portion of the Physician Arrangements Review Committee (PARC).
On-going training: To ensure the position is current on the latest requirements and approaches for areas of responsibility, on-going training, seminars and peer-to-peer interactions may be required.
Formal Education
- B.S. or B.A. degree in finance, accounting, or business administration. Master’s degree in business or health administration is desired
Related Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of in finance, accounting, decision support and/or provider contract management in a health care organization.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, EPIC, Workday and any computer-based decision support system.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel is desired.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of provider contracting, payroll, finance, benchmarking and financial analysis.
