MDW is seeking a highly qualified
Financial Analyst to provide support to the Comptroller Office of our Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) client. DARPA's mission is to maintain the technological superiority of the U.S. military and prevent technological surprise from harming our national security by sponsoring revolutionary, high payoff research that bridges the gap between fundamental discoveries and their military use. MDW's specific client, the DARPA Comptroller, is the nucleus of "corporate" fiscal activities. Must be able to be on site at least 2 days a week at the DARPA site in Arlington VA.
The
Financial Analyst may perform a combination or some or all of the following duties:
- Be a part of the Obligation Clearing House (OCH) Team. This team processes DARPA obligating documents daily, performs data analysis and validates funding data elements, updates the DARPA account system and provides information validation control before submitting the record in DAI for approval
- Responsible for the timeliness and data accuracy in the DAI account system ensuring all transactions are processed within 48 business hours upon receipt
- Utilize automation, various interface systems, and internal/external files to identify outstanding documents to process in efforts to adhere to the Ten-Day Rule.
- Track the process of all obligation document discrepancies that are identified and works with the technical offices and Comptroller analysts to obtain the necessary corrective actions. Discrepancies shall be resolved in a timely fashion with stakeholders and recorded to the general ledger once resolution is achieved.
Required Experience/Skills:- A minimum of three (3) years of general experience in: analyzing and evaluating complex textual and/or quantitative information in order to make comparisons among alternatives or to make recommendations for corrections or improvements in process, operations, or policies; experience with automated systems to include database maintenance and reporting; the ability to extract and report reliable data; sound oral and written communications skills; experience communicating with various levels of personnel; and ability to anticipate, project, and plan accordingly.
- Five (5) years of specialized experience in similar services
- Knowledge of accounting principles and DoD financial policies and directives
- The ability to analyze and prepare financial documents in compliance with the DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR)
- Ability to identify and resolve complex problems
- Experience with Defense Agency Initiative (DAI)
