Overview
The Director, Finance Systems leads the technology function of the Finance Systems (FIS) organization, reporting to the Sr Director, Finance Systems, who owns the overall Finance Systems portfolio and NFI's Workday Financials program. This role is the senior technical leader for the company's financial systems and is a core member of the Workday Financials implementation team, delivering the technical build, conversion, and cutover workstreams within the program direction set by the Sr Director, while sustaining production support for Infor Lawson through cutover.
Responsibilities
Workday Financials Program
• Deliver the technical workstream of the Workday Financials implementation: foundation data model (FDM) design, configuration, business processes, security architecture, and tenant strategy, in partnership with the implementation partner and the HR Technology (HRIS) team
• Coordinate release, tenant, and environment management across the shared Workday platform with the HRIS team
• Plan and execute data conversion, cutover, and dual-run activities from Infor Lawson to Workday Financials
Operations & Support
• Direct day-to-day financial application support (Workday FINS and Infor Lawson) through the Finance Systems Operations Manager; establish SLAs, escalation paths, and support metrics
• Own the FIS integration portfolio - payroll input and financial data integrations (GL, banking, vendor feeds) - including delivery standards, monitoring, and end-to-end issue resolution
• Provide architecture oversight and a multi-year finance systems roadmap in partnership with the Sr Enterprise Architect
Governance & Leadership
• Own financial systems security role design and support compliance and internal/external audits
• Manage vendor relationships (Workday, Infor, managed-services and implementation partners) including contracts, performance, and escalations
• Build, coach, and develop the technology team; set priorities across project and run-the-business demand
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance systems / ERP technology, including 5+ years leading teams
• Hands-on leadership of at least one full-cycle ERP financials implementation (Workday Financials strongly preferred; Infor Lawson experience a plus)
• Deep knowledge of ERP financial modules (GL, AP, AR, banking, procurement) and the controls that surround them
• Experience with integration technologies (Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, APIs, middleware, SFTP) and data conversion
• Working knowledge of security design and SOX/ITGC requirements for financial systems
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting/Finance, or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Workday Pro or Workday Financials certifications
• Experience running dual-ERP transitions or shared-services technology organizations
• Transportation, logistics, or distribution industry experience
• Program/project management credentials (PMP or equivalent)

This is intended as a long-term seat with a deliberate development path: the Director will gain exposure to executive stakeholders, vendor and contract ownership, and enterprise program governance, and offers a potential to expand in scope as the Finance Systems organization evolves . Advancement is based on demonstrated performance and business need and is not tied to a specific timeline.
We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $125,000-$175,000. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
