The RoleWe are seeking a Finance Data & Reporting Systems Manager to lead and scale reporting for eBay Finance, unifying core Finance data, modernizing reporting capabilities, enabling self-service insights, and embedding AI throughout the reporting lifecycle.
This role combines program leadership, technical enablement, and change management, with accountability for delivering consistent, trusted reporting, improving time-to-insight, and reducing manual reporting effort. The role includes ownership and improvement of our internally developed reporting applications, and orchestration of cross-functional delivery across various reporting and data platforms like BigQuery (GBQ), Tableau, and Hadoop.
What You Will Accomplish:- Partner with stakeholders to lead requirements, discovery, design, and user story development within agile frameworks.
- Drive improvements and integrations for reporting applications and connectivity across data and reporting tools (BigQuery, Tableau, Tellius, SAP S/4HANA, Hadoop).
- Help develop and implement the vision, roadmap, and critical metrics for finance reporting modernization.
- Partner with engineering on scalable data pipelines, access governance, and guide semantic model design to ensure critical metric consistency across tools.
- Leverage usage analytics, surveys, and data insights to advise product decisions and prioritize improvements.
- Develop enablement, communications, and training programs to drive adoption and self-service analytics.
- Ensure role-based access controls, audit readiness, data security and reporting quality controls
- Lead and develop an individual contributor(s) to deliver high-quality curated datasets on schedule with automated reconciliation and accuracy controls, in order to further enhance the reporting landscape for Finance
- Define operating rhythms, measure adoption, and reduce manual reporting through automation and standardization.
Required Qualifications- 7+ years owning and delivering data or reporting platforms as products, including defining vision, setting roadmaps, and driving adoption with business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to partner across Finance, Data, and Engineering to translate business needs into scalable reporting solutions.
- Hands-on experience with modern data ecosystems such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Hadoop, including working with data pipelines, APIs, and system integrations.
- Built and run "single source of truth" reporting, including defining KPIs and ensuring data accuracy through governance and reconciliation processes.
- Led cross-functional initiatives across Engineering, Data, and Finance, driving delivery, handling trade-offs, and aligning to business priorities.
- Improved reporting adoption and enabled self-service analytics by identifying user needs and increasing efficiency through automation and standardization.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills, with experience validating, reconciling, and troubleshooting reporting outputs.
- Experience mentoring or guiding team members and supporting both technical and business contributors.
Preferred Qualifications- Solid understanding of financial reporting and planning cycles, with the ability to speak expertly about key business metrics such as revenue, GMV, and margin.
- Familiar with AI-enabled analytics and reporting workflows, including integrating AI tools or supporting automated insights.
Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
185,000-195,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
