OVERVIEW OF ROLEBinti is seeking an analytical and strategic Finance and Accounting Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a background in finance and accounting, who is ready to bring their expertise to a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. As a Finance and Accounting Associate, you will not only oversee essential administrative finance functions-such as invoicing, insurance management, and processing payments-but also lead initiatives to streamline and innovate our finance and operational processes.
Beyond these core responsibilities, the Finance and Accounting Associate will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven projects. Your analytical insights and process improvement strategies will directly influence Binti's financial and operational efficiency, making a lasting impact on our mission to deliver excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend hands-on financial management with high-level strategic planning.
LOCATIONBinti is headquartered in San Francisco, California, and requires team members to be in-office at least Mondays and Thursdays.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Data Analytics: Contribute to our internal data infrastructure through automated data extraction and transformation. Write queries and create dashboards to deliver insights to internal teams.
- Accounts Receivables Management: Generate customer invoices, follow up on payments, apply payments to invoices in Maxio and communicate with customers on overdue balances.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues that arise.
- Employee Expense Processing: Review and process employee expense submissions via Ramp, including home office stipends, work-related travel, and other reimbursements.
- Bank and investor reporting: Assist in preparing monthly compliance reports and quarterly investor updates.
- Process Payroll: Process hourly and salaried payroll including calculating commission payments.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and collections activities. Also, support the CFO in preparing cash flow projections and various financial health scenarios.
SAMPLE PROJECTS- Write SQL queries to generate reports and build dashboards from our production database.
- Create saved materialized views to improve data accessibility and enable self-service reporting for teams.
- Add rigor to invoicing practices through documentation of unique customer requirements.
- Formalize contract renewal tracking to improve stakeholder visibility and financial accuracy.
- Assist in the development of departmental income statements.
- Improve ARR tracking process and documentation.
WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT YOUQualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience: At least 3 years work experience in accounting or finance is expected; Background in SaaS or subscription-based businesses is a plus.
• Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Very strong skills in Excel and Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, macros, etc.) required; SQL or similar database query skills a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and software (e.g., Maxio, Quickbooks and Ramp) is a plus; understanding of core accounting concepts required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
