A Day in the Life

As a member of the IT Finance team, you'll do much more than crunch numbers-you'll help shape investment decisions that power a global technology organization. In this highly visible role, you'll serve as a trusted finance partner to IT leaders, working side-by-side with decision makers to understand business priorities, evaluate opportunities, and drive financial performance.

You'll gain hands-on experience across all core areas of finance, including:
• Financial planning and forecasting
• Month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Budget development and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) support
• Capital investment analysis and expenditure requests
• Financial reporting, insights, and executive presentations
• Business case development and financial modeling

This role offers a unique opportunity to build both your technical finance and business partnership skills. You'll create and improve reporting tools, analyze spending trends, solve reporting and system challenges, and provide financial guidance to cost center managers and project teams.

You'll also participate in team meetings as the finance representative, helping leaders make informed decisions on projects, budgets, and strategic investments. Along the way, you'll gain exposure to large-scale technology initiatives, senior leadership, and the financial operations of a complex global organization-providing an excellent foundation for a successful career in Finance, FP&A, or business leadership.

You'll develop a broad finance skillset, build a strong professional network, influence real business decisions, and see firsthand how finance helps turn strategy into results.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Performs and analyzes financial modeling, economic research, trends and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, and cost against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements.
  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management.
  • Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis.
  • May provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit, division or group.


Must Have
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 2+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting


Nice to Have
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Auditing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with OneStream, Power BI, and SAP
  • Good technical accounting/US GAAP knowledge
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to identify key trends and drivers and the proven experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise information.
  • Ability to develop solutions and/or innovative ideas to problems and ensure that solutions are consistent with the organization's objectives.
  • Ability to interface in a global team environment with various levels of management, staff, and other functional areas
  • Strong organizational and people skills with interests in building strong business partnering relationships.


For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. a7 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$69,600.00 - $104,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
