Full Job Description
Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Field Service Technician for our Washington DC location. In this hands-on role, you will help keep Amtrak's Siemens ACS-64 electric locomotive fleet running safely, reliably, and efficiently by providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance workforce. The Field Service Technician will advise on routine maintenance, restoration, equipment failures, semi-complex installations, modifications, and repairs-playing an important part in delivering dependable service for our customer. With our 24/7 operations, you will work a rotating weekly schedule that includes weekends: 3 12-hour days from 6am-6pm and 4 10-hour days from 6am-4pm. We'd also ask that you be willing to work overtime as needed.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Follow all applicable safety rules, laws, and regulations while supporting a safety-first, zero-harm culture for yourself, coworkers, and the site.
  • Perform work in alignment with Siemens quality standards, maintenance instructions, and compliance requirements.
  • Support scheduled and unscheduled locomotive maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Provide first-line technical assistance to operations and maintenance staff to help resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Use the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to follow maintenance instructions, document defects, track incidents, and support issue closure.
  • Complete material transactions as needed to support fleet maintenance when Stores Keeper Controllers are unavailable.
  • Build strong working relationships with the customer while representing Siemens Mobility professionally.
  • Partner with site leadership on operational issues, system needs, and facility-related activities.

To thrive in this role, you have:
  • Associate degree in an engineering subject area or at least 2 years of experience in an industrial, military, or maintenance environment.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical AC/DC circuits, mechanical systems, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Excellently demonstrated English-language technical communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

The pay range for this position is $71,604.00 - $96,798.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
