As a Field Service Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will to support Building Automation Systems (BAS), Access Control, and Fire Alarm systems throughout the Empire State Plaza campus and surrounding customer facilities in Albany, New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, commissioning, and optimizing critical building systems that support the safety, security, comfort, and operational efficiency of customer facilities.

This position requires a highly motivated technical professional who can work independently, interact effectively with customers, and deliver exceptional service across multiple Honeywell technology platforms.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of Honeywell Building Automation, Access Control, and Fire Alarm systems.
  • Support HVAC control systems, energy management systems, security systems, and life safety systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, controller, and field device issues.
  • Commission, test, and validate newly installed systems, upgrades, and software revisions.
  • Modify controller programming, graphics, databases, schedules, alarms, and operator interfaces as required.
  • Perform system backups, database management, firmware updates, and cybersecurity-related maintenance activities.
  • Conduct inspections and functional testing of fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with applicable codes and customer requirements.
  • Support card access, alarm monitoring, video integration, and security management platforms.
  • Provide technical support and training to facility personnel and end users.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, service reports, test records, and commissioning reports utilizing Honeywell service management tools.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and provide emergency service support as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Honeywell safety standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service delivery.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with one or more of the following:
    • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    • HVAC Controls
    • Access Control Systems
    • Fire Alarm Systems
    • Security Systems
    • Industrial Controls
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access credentials required for government and secure facilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


WE VALUE
  • Experience with building automation or control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good teamwork and customer service orientation.Experience with Honeywell EBI, Niagara, WEBS, ComfortPoint, Spyder, CIPer, Pro-Watch, MAXPRO, Notifier, Gamewell-FCI, or equivalent platforms.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, air handling units, VAV systems, and energy management strategies.
  • Working knowledge of access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and integrated security solutions.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP, IP networking, and other building systems communication protocols.
  • Experience supporting large commercial, healthcare, institutional, higher education, or government facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, control drawings, riser diagrams, and system schematics.
  • NICET certification, manufacturer certifications, or industry-recognized technical credentials are preferred.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

The annual base salary range for this position is$73,400.00-91,700.00 Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
