Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Field Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation and maintenance of conventional sweet and sour oil and gas wells and facilities. As part of the Operations team, you will support day-to-day field activities to ensure reliable performance of wells, pipelines, multi-well batteries, booster compressors, and oil and gas facilities, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.

Rainbow Lake
- This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation.
- This position is based in Rainbow Lake and is 14 days on 14 days off rotational role.
- The successful candidate must reside in Rainbow Lake while on shift.
- Please note, this is not a camp role and not a fly-in/fly-out position.
- While on rotation in Rainbow Lake, you will stay in company-provided housing. Please note that meals are not included and will be your responsibility.
- The successful candidate will need to commute to and from the community for each rotation or reside in Rainbow Lake.
What you'll do:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain wells and facilities in a safe and efficient manner, including pumpjacks, plunger lift systems, pipelines, and batteries.
- Support and comply with CVE's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System, ensuring safety is the top priority in all activities.
- Identify hazards, follow safe work procedures, perform equipment lockout, and respond to emergencies as required.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, including pumpjacks and pump-off controllers (POCs), to maintain reliable operations.
- Perform housekeeping, routine maintenance, performance monitoring, and regulatory checks to support asset integrity.
- Maintain accurate field documentation and accounting records.
- Champion Management of Change (MOC) processes and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
- Promote a results-driven, team-oriented culture by communicating effectively and modeling safe, responsible behaviors.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Conventional oil and gas field and facility operations experience and experience working in a sour environment is considered an asset.
- Hands-on experience with plunger lift systems; pumpjack and refrigeration plant experience considered an asset.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- GPO (Gas Process Operations) Certificate or Fourth Class Steam ticket considered an asset.

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
