Are you a safety-driven leader with a passion for operational excellence and team development? As a
Supervisor, Operations, you will lead the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of the gas distribution system within your designated area. In this role, you will oversee a team of skilled unionized frontline employees, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards while building strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do:- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8-10 unionized frontline employees, fostering a strong safety culture and supporting professional growth.
- Supervise and coordinate utility services work within your assigned operational area to ensure timely, high-quality execution.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and procedures, with accountability for environmental, health, and safety performance.
- Provide emergency response leadership and participate in an on-call after-hours duty supervisor rotation as required.
- Plan and manage workloads, budgets, and performance targets, while monitoring employee productivity and operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Promote Plant Damage Prevention Awareness and ensure all required training is completed to support safe, compliant work execution.
Who You Are:- Related university degree and seven-plus years' experience OR nine-plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
Working Conditions:- Office based role with a significant amount of time spent in the field.
- Participation in after hours emergency duty supervisor rotation that may require field visits.
- Minimal travel.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 - 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
Salary: - Ranges from $93,000 - $119,000 USD for US locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity.
