This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.

The role of Feature Lead within DevEx is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction, and oversight to a team as they deliver technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the role include developing solutions and processes for delivering features based on their knowledge of design/architectural patterns and Agile/DevOps practices. This role ensures the systems design and requirements are aligned to achieve the desired business outcomes, and that team practices and coding/quality principles are aligned to achieve the desired technology outcomes. They have built significant experience through multiple software implementations and have developed both depth and breadth in several technical competencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery
  • Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality
  • Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
  • Guides the team on work breakdown and execution
  • Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria
  • Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team
  • Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)
  • Building the Solution Right
  • Design, develop, and be accountable for feature delivery.
  • Apply enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality.
  • Ensure solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt.
  • Responsible for compliance and security items and audit support at the team level.
  • Act as a liaison for production activities/issues.
  • Work Planning and Execution
  • Work with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Guide the team on work breakdown and execution.
  • Team Mentorship
  • Play a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team.
  • Guide team members with skills and practices (planning estimation, peer reviews and other engineering practices).
  • Identify skill and role gaps, and work with Technology Manager to address them.
  • Work with Technology Manager in creating resource contingency plans where required.
  • Facilitate solution-driven discussions and design complex systems using domain expertise, experimentation, and POCs. Partner with Product to prioritize architecture runway work that enables business features and new opportunities. Guide development teams with clear architecture, system design support, and solution options to resolve impediments.
  • Conduct design/code reviews to ensure non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, usability) are met. Support technology selection and preferred product standards. Educate teams on best practices, standards, and modern engineering approaches to deliver innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Drive architecture across Business, Application, Data, and Technology domains aligned to the product roadmap. Establish best practices and standardized templates. Define solution intent and architectural vision for complex initiatives, iterating with an evolving backlog. Lead rapid, high-level architecture shaping; ensure designs are modular, flexible, and adaptable to changing requirements.

  • Sets agenda and defines the artifacts needed for governance forums. Collects feedback from customers and stakeholders to measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management.
  • DevOps and Release Automation
  • Subject matter expert on bank standards and best practices, and continuous integration and continuous deployment. Ability to configure tools and processes to support DevOps strategies.

  • Working knowledge of products, services, business flows and understanding of financial context in which technology and operating principles are used within their business area.
  • Application Data Architecture
  • Possesses an understanding of architecture and bank standards. Participates in or supports delivery of architecture designs and implementations.

  • Cloud technologies on 1 or more major Hyper scalers like AWS, Azure, GCP. Container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.

Pay range

$106,500.00 - $173,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
