Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing drawings and design disclosures to assign/generate MILSPEC or other specification part numbers for requested fasteners from available fastener procurement specifications that function as a definitive technical data package which fully defines the fastener.
  • Applying approved NSTM 075 substitution processes on fasteners in drawings/design disclosures' Engineering Parts Lists (EPLs) to provide fasteners that are equivalent/superior in performance, or sufficient to what the user needs.
  • Reviewing and responding to supply support requests from the fleet in the form of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Remedy Tickets for in-service and acquisition programs.
  • Make recommendations regarding fastener health to Navy subject matter experts.
  • Analyze data gathered during shipboard assessments and joint design drawings and make recommendations for repair/replacement
  • Attending fastener specification subcommittees to update the Fasteners Team on industry fastener specification changes and to advocate for Navy fastener standard interests.
  • Assisting in performing fasteners/bolted joint engineering support to shipyards and stakeholders.
  • Review and comment on material and fastener specifications updates.

This is a long term contract based out of the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering and three (3) years of experience in U.S. Navy ship systems, including mechanical/electrical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, and testing.

  • Background in mechanical, materials, and/or aerospace engineering required.
  • Knowledge of chemical composition of materials, mechanical properties of materials, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications (ASTM, SAE, ASME, NASM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of mechanical fastener test processes and equipment (e.g., tensile tests, wedge tensile tests, charpy impact).
  • US Citizen and with a DoD Secret or able to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in Navy/DoD logistics/supply support is beneficial but not required.
  • Laboratory testing and data analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of various databases including MBPS, IHS, ATIS, LogiQuest, DoD ASSIST and/or WebFLIS

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

USD $65,200.00 - USD $101,950.00 /Yr.
