Factory IT / Network Specialist

As a Factory IT / Network Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the technology infrastructure that enables safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for providing technical support for factory IT systems, maintaining network connectivity across the facility, supporting operational technology (OT) environments, and partnering with Siemens corporate IT, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure system availability and cybersecurity compliance during site ramp-up and ongoing operations.

You will make an impact by:
  • Providing onsite support for factory IT infrastructure, including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and production-related computing equipment.
  • Supporting network operations across manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments, including wired and wireless connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Monitoring and maintaining production-critical network infrastructure, including switches, access points, network cabinets, and communication devices.
  • Providing technical support for manufacturing systems, including MES, SCADA, HMIs, industrial PCs, barcode scanners, label printers, and connected production equipment.
  • Assisting with deployment, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of end-user devices and IT assets.
  • Supporting user account administration, access requests, password management, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Performing software installation, upgrades, patching, and system configuration in accordance with Siemens IT standards.
  • Partnering with automation, controls, and engineering teams to support connectivity between production equipment, industrial networks, and enterprise systems.
  • Responding to and resolving technical incidents while minimizing downtime and maintaining operational continuity.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of network configurations, system architecture, asset inventories, and support activities.
  • Supporting cybersecurity initiatives by implementing security policies, vulnerability remediation activities, endpoint protection, and access controls.
  • Assisting in disaster recovery, backup validation, and business continuity activities for manufacturing systems.
  • Supporting factory expansion projects, equipment installations, production ramp-up initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborating with global Siemens IT teams and external vendors to implement technology solutions and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, operational excellence, and customer-focused support throughout the facility.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Administration, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, networking, or manufacturing technology systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems, desktop hardware, mobile devices, printers, and end-user computing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, switching, wireless networking, and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory, Microsoft 365, endpoint management tools, and IT ticketing systems.
  • Experience documenting technical issues, corrective actions, and support procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and transport IT equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing execution systems (MES), SCADA platforms, industrial PCs, and operational technology (OT) environments.
  • Experience supporting factory start-ups, greenfield manufacturing facilities, or large-scale production expansions.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking technologies and protocols.
  • Familiarity with automation environments, PLC communications, and manufacturing system connectivity.
  • Experience working with Cisco networking equipment, wireless infrastructure, and network monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices for manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with SAP, industrial data collection systems, and manufacturing applications.
  • Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes within production environments.
  • Experience supporting highly automated manufacturing facilities.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
