Full Job Description

Facility Manager

We're seeking a Facility Manager to ensure the Wooddale site operates as a safe, compliant, modern, and high-performing workplace. In this role, you'll oversee all aspects of building maintenance and safety, lead and develop a dedicated two-person maintenance team, and champion continuous improvement initiatives that elevate both operational efficiency and the everyday employee experience. This is an opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact on one of Videojet's key manufacturing sites — shaping how our people work, collaborate, and thrive every day.

You'll work closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and cross-functional site leadership to align facility programs with broader business objectives. Success in this role means delivering a reliably maintained, code-compliant, and modernized Wooddale facility within 12–18 months, while coaching and developing a high-performing maintenance team grounded in standard work and proactive ownership. This role is onsite in Wood Dale, IL.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Own the overall maintenance, safety, appearance, and operational readiness of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, compliant, and professional work environment.
  • Lead and develop the Maintenance team — including a Maintenance Mechanic and a Facilities Technician — by establishing standard work, improving processes, and maximizing workforce productivity.
  • Drive a proactive facilities strategy by identifying and executing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, workflow, collaboration, aesthetics, and the overall employee experience.
  • Manage preventative maintenance programs and oversee building systems to maximize reliability while minimizing reactive maintenance.
  • Develop and manage a structured process for prioritizing and executing facility improvement requests.
  • Champion workplace modernization, including office layouts, furnishings, fixtures, and collaborative spaces that create a more inviting and contemporary environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all building codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and other functions to execute facility improvement projects that support business objectives.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience, including experience leading, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities or maintenance leadership within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven experience leading maintenance teams, implementing standard work, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and facility infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, building codes, preventative maintenance, and safety best practices.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience leading facility improvements or renovations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a passion for creating safe, efficient, and modern workplaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) platforms for tracking and managing preventative maintenance programs.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or related professional credential.
  • Background in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with capital project planning, budgeting, and contractor management.
  • Experience with workplace modernization or space planning in an industrial or corporate environment.
