Facility Manager, RN - Ambulatory Surgery Center

Peoria, Arizona | Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Facility Manager to lead the day-to-day clinical and operational functions of our ambulatory surgery center in Peoria, AZ.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an RN who brings strong surgical or ambulatory surgery center (ASC) experience, a track record of building and leading high-performing teams, and the operational expertise to drive quality, efficiency, and growth.

The Facility Manager will partner closely with physicians, the Medical Director, regional leadership, and clinical teammates to ensure the center delivers exceptional patient care while meeting operational, financial, regulatory, and quality objectives.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a seasoned healthcare leader, ideally with experience managing an ASC or surgical facility.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • 5+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
  • ASC leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Surgical services, operating room, procedural, or other surgical healthcare leadership experience required if ASC experience is not available.
  • A proven track record of building, developing, and leading clinical teams.
  • Experience launching new service lines, programs, or operational initiatives.
  • Strong experience with performance management, coaching, accountability, and teammate development.
  • The ability to balance clinical excellence with operational and financial performance.
  • Strong physician partnership and relationship-management skills.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to move between strategic planning and day-to-day operational execution.

What You'll Do

Clinical & Operational Leadership
  • Provide overall clinical and operational leadership for the center.
  • Oversee daily operations, patient flow, staffing, scheduling, supplies, equipment, and resource utilization.
  • Partner with physicians and the clinical team to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.
  • Monitor vascular access and other procedures as directed by senior leadership.
  • Maintain a strong culture of patient safety, quality, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Perform clinical duties within the scope of RN licensure and applicable certifications.

Team Building & Performance Management
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing clinical and administrative team.
  • Establish performance expectations and goals aligned with center objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Address performance issues and administer corrective action in partnership with leadership and HR.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development and create pathways for teammate growth.
  • Develop staffing models that optimize coverage, productivity, and patient care.
  • Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing education initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative culture where teammates understand expectations and are accountable for results.

Growth & Service Line Development
  • Support the development and launch of new programs and service lines.
  • Translate organizational strategy into actionable center-level initiatives.
  • Lead operational change and help teams adapt to new processes, technologies, and workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient access, efficiency, quality, and center performance.
  • Partner with physicians and leadership to support continued growth of the center.

Physician & Patient Relations
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with physicians and the Medical Director.
  • Serve as a visible clinical leader and advocate for patients and teammates.
  • Address patient concerns and promote an exceptional patient experience.
  • Ensure effective communication between clinical, administrative, and physician teams.
  • Maintain a center environment focused on professionalism, responsiveness, and high-quality care.

Quality, Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements, including CMS, OSHA, and The Joint Commission.
  • Maintain required patient safety, medication, crash cart, radiation safety, and other regulatory logs.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and established protocols.
  • Review patient records for accuracy, completeness, and current information.
  • Support regulatory surveys, audits, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a strong culture of safety and regulatory compliance across the center.

Financial & Resource Management
  • Partner with regional and senior leadership on center budgeting, cost controls, resource allocation, and financial performance.
  • Manage supply inventory and PAR levels based on patient volume and operational needs.
  • Monitor equipment and facility needs and ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships and support contract and pricing negotiations.
  • Review and approve employee timecards.
  • Complete required operational and performance reporting.

Qualifications

Required
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Associate degree in Nursing or related field required; BSN preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
  • Surgical services, procedural, OR, or ambulatory care leadership experience.
  • ASC leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with performance management, coaching, and teammate development.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong understanding of clinical operations, patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred
  • Experience managing an ambulatory surgery center or outpatient procedural facility.
  • Experience launching or expanding a service line.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost management, inventory, and operational metrics.
  • Experience partnering directly with physicians and Medical Directors.
  • Experience with vascular access, nephrology, dialysis, interventional, or other procedural specialties.
