Facilities Manager

Position Overview

In support of our client's mission, the JLL Facilities Manager has comprehensive responsibility for managing all site-specific facilities operations. Reporting to the JLL Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) Director, this leader will mentor, guide, and support staff in creating, developing, and executing a sustainable Integrated Facilities Management service delivery model that enables JLL to meet and exceed client objectives while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Operations Management
  • Manage corporate-owned healthcare facilities and other campus buildings including outpatient clinics and office spaces. Provide leadership for maintenance teams responsible for regulatory compliance, quality assurance programs, financial performance, reporting, and personnel management and development.
  • Ensure accountability for all building systems and equipment maintenance in accordance with State, Federal, and Local regulatory requirements. Oversee stationary equipment including boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, air handlers, heat exchangers, underground storage tanks, and related critical infrastructure.


Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Maintain strict compliance with healthcare accreditation standards including DNV (Det Norske Veritas), AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care), DPH (Department of Public Health), and local testing and permitting requirements. Ensure perpetual readiness for regulatory surveys and inspections.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all applicable standards and ensure team compliance with the Master Services Agreement (MSA) and any relevant amendments or appendices that guide JLL's relationship with the client.
  • Determine the degree of compliance with applicable standards as directed by JLL management.


Financial Management & Performance
  • Maintain accountability for financial performance related to operational facilities expenditures while ensuring strict adherence to established operating budgets. Track, trend, and recommend action plans regarding KPI and SLA performance that falls below standard benchmarks for facility operations and engineering services.
  • Partner with JLL Strategic Sourcing and Contract Managers to ensure all vendor contracts are properly implemented and executed consistent with identified scope of work and MSA requirements. Provide oversight and support to Project Management and Sourcing Teams in the delivery of maintenance, projects, and vendor activities supporting critical operations.


Personnel Leadership & Development
  • Create annual Individual Performance Management Program (IPMP) templates in conjunction with Human Resources for all direct reports. Ensure IPMP program completion consistent with Human Resources requirements and timelines.
  • Ensure staff training in approved practices and procedures related to proper facility maintenance techniques. Manage and encourage participation in client and JLL Employee Recognition Awards programs to foster engagement and excellence.
  • Create a safe work environment for staff by ensuring adherence to all safety and infection control policies, procedures, and practices including the wearing of appropriate protective clothing and gear and proper handling of contaminated equipment and tools.


Stakeholder Communication & Escalation
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for all facility concerns and grievances raised by facility occupants. Attend and actively participate in site committee meetings including Environment of Care, Emergency Management, and Process Improvement committees as needed and required.
  • Comply with all JLL policies and procedures including ethics and business practice standards. Maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction.


Qualifications

Required:
  • 3+ years of commercial Facility Management, Plant Operations, Engineering, or maintenance supervision experience
  • Managerial experience with proven budget and personnel management responsibilities
  • Regulatory compliance experience including TJC (The Joint Commission), DNV, AAAHC, and state Department of Public Health requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of activities necessary to maintain perpetual regulatory compliance
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including report writing ability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment with sensitivity to patient care operations


Preferred:
  • College degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field
  • Completion of formal apprenticeship program or technical trade school certification
  • Hospital or healthcare facility management experience
  • Fundamental skills in building critical systems including HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, life safety systems, and power distribution systems
  • Experience with Integrated Facilities Management service delivery models
  • Professional certifications such as CFM (Certified Facility Manager), FMP (Facility Management Professional), or similar credentials
