Facility Manager - JLL

What this job involves:

As a Facilities Manager at JLL, you'll be the cornerstone of daily operations for a marquee Healthcare client, primarily overseeing a large administrative building in Oakland along with other facilities in the East Bay area. Reporting to a client facilities leader and serving as their primary backup, you'll be the main point of contact coordinating departmental needs for office space, moves, furniture, equipment, and telecommunications. You'll manage multiple planned and unexpected renovation projects while providing direct support for small to medium-scale move projects, space planning, and vendor coordination. This dynamic role positions you as a critical liaison between internal stakeholders and external service providers, ensuring seamless facility operations that support our client's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Research and respond to all customer requests for information, service, or assistance promptly and thoroughly within 24 hours, serving as the main point of contact for assigned facilities
  • Coordinate and manage small to medium-scale move projects from initiation to completion, including developing basic space plans, conducting vendor walk-throughs, and supporting space allocation tracking and monthly utilization reporting
  • Process Moves/Adds/Changes (MAC) requests, manage work orders using CMMS systems, and coordinate employee workspace modifications while inputting change data through standard change control processes
  • Coordinate building fire drills, pre-drill meetings, and updates of the building Life Safety manual while ensuring all work aligns with proper safety controls and minimal operational disruption
  • Coordinate with internal and external vendors to deliver multi-disciplinary services including emergency response, parking, security access, conferencing, signage, and office equipment
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, code invoices for Manager Approval, process vendor invoices within established guidelines, and assist with monthly variance reports and budgetary requests
  • Perform weekly inspections for designated areas and complete accurate and timely work orders for necessary repairs as approved by Facilities Manager


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Public Health, Engineering, Public Administration, Health Care Administration, Engineering Construction, Industrial Hygiene, or related field OR Minimum four (4) years of experience in facility maintenance/management or a directly related field
  • Superior customer service skills and client-focused orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional stakeholder engagement
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate project management with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for report generation, and experience with CMMS systems preferred
  • Reliable transportation to travel between East Bay facilities with flexibility to be on call as needed, including after-hours and weekends


Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of experience in project management
  • Certified associate in project management (CAPM) or equivalent certification


Location: Onsite - Oakland, California (supporting surrounding East Bay facilities)

Salary : 87,100 to 126,100

Estimated compensation for this position:

91,375.00 - 107,500.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
