Summary

As a Facilities Specialist, this role manages complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion. The position serves as a technical lead, overseeing contractor selection and management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to exact specifications. Beyond project execution, this role is a critical pillar for site compliance, directing EHS functions, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 standards to maintain a safe, energy-efficient, and regulatory-compliant environment. By collaborating with management on equipment placement and site planning, this role identifies and mitigates risks, develops new programs to meet evolving regulations, and ensures the facility remains a safe, compliant, and efficient environment.

Detailed Description

Specialist level position for engineers who provide engineering support in these areas Perform tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Ensures facility is always in compliance with all local and government regulations.
  • Provides technical direction to facilities staff and directs same in non-routine work as applicable.
  • Works with management and technical staff to formulate plans on equipment placement and replacement as necessary.
  • Coordinates contract services, inspections and audits as necessary.
  • Manages multiple projects varying in complexity using solid project management skills and tools.
  • Drives the supplier/contractor selection process and ensures that all orders/requisitions are places with all the necessary drawings, specifications and documentation.
  • Monitors and reports progress status of projects along with quality, schedule, safety, security, productivity, administration, worksite appearance to site management team and evaluates contractors on these aspects.
  • Ensures compliance to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards.
  • Manages and directs EHS functions such as: occupational health, claims management, industrial hygiene, safety, hazardous materials, hazardous waste management, pollution prevention, and ergonomics.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable government EHS regulations.
  • Develops new programs to meet new/revised regulations.
  • Collaborates at all levels in site planning, including reviewing proposed and existing processes and equipment and making recommendations.
  • Performs periodic reviews of EHS programs and initiatives to identify and control risks.
  • Ensures compliance to ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management System Standards


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Implementation of an NFPA 70e program and knowledge in electrical safety in general.
  • Engineering Foundation Competencies
  • Knowledge of Industrial hygiene, Environmental, Health and Safety programs and regulations including ISO 14001.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Engineering standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of structural and facilities engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
  • Strong knowledge of IT platforms, database design and programming languages.
  • Strong knowledge of some or all of the following: UNIX, NT, database management system.
  • Ability to evaluate materials, gather and analyze data and determine root cause of problems.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers.


Physical Demands

  • Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.


Salary

Salary Range: $85k-$115k Annually

The salary range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including by not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.

Compensation includes the Base Salary and the target Short-Term Incentive (STI)/ bonus. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this.
