This role leads the development and execution of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), predictive maintenance (PdM) programs, and critical HVAC/environmental system monitoring to comply with USP , USP , cGMP, and internal operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
Compounding Pharmacy & Cleanroom Systems
  • Oversee reliability and preventative maintenance programs for sterile and non-sterile compounding equipment, biosafety cabinets (BSCs), laminar flow hoods, and automated filling systems.
  • Ensure strict environmental controls, cleanroom pressure cascades, temperature, and humidity parameters comply with USP , USP , FDA, and state board requirements.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance (QA) to manage critical equipment deviations, Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) implementations.
Critical HVAC & Environmental Controls
  • Manage reliability, monitoring, and lifecycle maintenance for specialized healthcare and manufacturing HVAC systems, including Air Handling Units (AHUs), chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, and HEPA filtration systems.
  • Optimize Building Management Systems (BMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS) for continuous 24/7 environmental monitoring and alert mitigation.
  • Lead energy efficiency and air quality optimization initiatives across office spaces, cleanrooms, and warehouse storage zones.
Manufacturing & Warehouse Equipment Reliability
  • Implement Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and track key reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, OEE) across automated manufacturing equipment, packaging lines, and warehouse automation.
  • Design and refine Preventative/Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) schedules for material handling equipment (MHE), cold storage/walk-in freezers, conveyor systems, and backup power generators.
  • Direct vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis, and ultrasound testing programs to identify equipment failures prior to operational interruption.
Facility Maintenance & Office Operations
  • Oversee facility reliability standards for general infrastructure, plumbing, fire suppression/life safety systems, electrical distribution, and office facilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service level agreements (SLAs), and contracted technical services for facility utilities and specialized equipment calibrations.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate equipment histories, spare parts inventories, and maintenance records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Author, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance, calibration, and equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Participate in internal quality audits and external regulatory inspections (FDA, OSHA, State Boards of Pharmacy).
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or an equivalent combination of professional training and documented industry experience).
  • Experience: 4+ years of reliability, maintenance, or facilities engineering experience spanning compounding pharmacy/life sciences, manufacturing, and warehouse facilities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of USP , USP , cGMP, FDA regulations, ISO cleanroom classifications, and OSHA standards.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Hands-on experience with industrial HVAC systems, cleanroom air distribution, differential pressure monitoring, and BMS/BAS software.
    • Proficiency with CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo, Fiix, SAP Maintenance).
    • Applied expertise in RCM techniques, FMEA, RCA, and PdM technologies (thermography, vibration analysis).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) via ASQ or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) via SMRP.
  • Experience with cold chain storage reliability and automated warehouse systems (ASRS, conveyors).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
