Summary

Reporting to senior level management, the individual in this role will provide direct & indirect supervision to security managers and employees performing security functions globally. You will be responsible for providing regular updates for senior leadership / Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on global security activities. You are fully qualified to execute job/role accountabilities working independently on most aspects of the job. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Tasks are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required to complete recurring assignments independently and to determine the best methods to follow to complete assignments. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the company's operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Builds internal and external relationships, with Customs Agencies, Border Security and local Law Enforcement to ensure sites are meeting CTPAT / PIP compliance criteria.

Detailed Description

As the Global Security Director, you will be responsible for tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Prepares monthly Global Security reports for the Executive Leadership Team
  • Maintain the Corporate BCP (Business Continuity Planning), and Global Security Policy and Emergency Response documents.
  • Supports regions/sites with annual security operational budget, includes; capital expenditures, purchase orders, creating statements of work and requests for quotes.
  • Providing oversight in areas of emergency planning, physical security, asset protection, travel security, and executive security designed to mitigate security threats.
  • Provide direction and guidance to regional security teams with tabletop exercises, investigations, and physical security audits.
  • Assists in the development of local goals and objectives that support major corporate security initiatives.
  • Conduct regional People & Asset security assessments.
  • Liaison with Customs, local Law Enforcement and Border services in various countries to ensure sites are meeting CTPAT / PIP compliance criteria and identifying & resolving various threats.
  • Conduct M&A Security assessments, geographical assessments, real time threat assessment & management (on site assessments).
  • Conduct Investigations (ethics complaints, fraud, theft, assaults, extortion, kidnapping) using approved industry standard techniques and documenting the result using Navex.
  • Manage the Global Security 24h Hotline and assume direct responsibility for policy execution locally and providing guidance to sites globally.
  • Manage internally and externally contracted resources employed in the process of security management.
  • Work with Site Security Managers to complete customer security assessments, risk assessments and questionnaires.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of the position are performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Between 20% - 45% global travel.

  • Eleven to fourteen years relevant experience


Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced studies in Business/Operations/Technology are recommended.

Salary Information

The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.
