Full Job Description
A leading law firm with offices in the Northeast region is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager, with professional services experience to oversee the safe, secure, efficient, and professional operation of its office facilities. Based in New York City, this role is responsible for managing day-to-day facilities operations at the headquarters office while supporting regional locations as needed. The Facilities Manager will lead building operations, workplace planning, vendor management, safety and security programs, budgeting, and business continuity initiatives. This position partners closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain a premier workplace environment that supports exceptional client service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and appearance of office facilities, ensuring a professional, client-ready environment at all times.
  • Manage building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, life-safety systems, and access control while coordinating preventive maintenance programs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with landlords, property managers, building engineers, and service providers to address facility-related needs and projects.
  • Lead office space planning efforts, including seating assignments, employee relocations, renovations, office moves, and workplace reconfigurations.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and performance standards for facilities-related services, equipment, and workplace operations.
  • Develop and administer facilities budgets, oversee expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure compliance with workplace safety, security, and business continuity requirements.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive facilities management experience in a corporate, professional services, or commercial office environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing facilities operations across multiple office locations.
  • Proven success overseeing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, facilities budgets, and capital improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, facilities maintenance, workplace services, OSHA regulations, life-safety requirements, and building compliance standards.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; industry certifications such as IFMA FMP, SFP, CFM, or similar credentials are a plus. Professional services experience, including legal, accounting, consulting, or financial services environments, is highly desirable.

Compensation: $125,000-150,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
