Position Overview

International Motors has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join our team at our Advanced Technology Center in Elmendorf (San Antonio), TX. The Facilities Manager reports to the Operations Chief Engineer and is responsible for planning and managing the day-to-day operations of the 150-acre site with 350,000 sq ft of building space.

 

The International Motors Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is a Research and Development Facility as well as a support center for the San Antonio Manufacturing Plant that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles. The facilities department supports all departments on-site in the day-to-day operations and ensures that prototype build and testing departments are not negatively affected due to site infrastructure or maintenance issues. This role will also be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of site infrastructure improvement and capitals projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manages the design, planning, maintenance, and repair of equipment, machinery, buildings, grounds, and other facilities
  • Manages facilities maintenance staff
  • Plans, schedules, and delegates repair and preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities
  • Coordinates and supports organization to ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Oversees compliance with all federal, state and local environmental rules and regulations
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications and needed improvements, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs
  • Supports maintenance staff by performing “handyman” maintenance duties such as furniture moves, electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup
  • Operates site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary
  • Maintains documentation such as site maps, power diagrams, network diagram, space usage, etc.
  • Coordinates and oversees outside contractors on building and equipment repairs
  • Assist in hosting visitors
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of facilities or administration experience

OR

  • Master's degree and at least 4 years of facilities or administration experience

OR

  • At least 8 years of facilities or administration experience
Additional Requirements
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial facility systems and equipment
  • Experience planning, scheduling, and performing PM of facilities and equipment
  • Knowledge of the following systems electrical, HVAC, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, control systems, cooling tower, etc.
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical abilities including well developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Cross functional leadership
  • Experience managing maintenance technicians and suppliers

 

Preferred:

  • Control system (PLC) experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
