Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Facilities Management Specialist 2 is responsible for coordinating the procurement, inventory,

maintenance, and operational support of departmental equipment for the Department of Pathology

& Laboratory Medicine. This position manages capital asset records in the Asset Management

System (AMS), coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs, provides in-person

troubleshooting and technical support for equipment issues, and partners with faculty, staff, and

vendors to ensure equipment remains operational. The role also supports departmental meetings

and contributes to the efficient operation of the department's clinical, research, and educational

environments.

Salary Range: $34.95 - 52.97

Required:

Bachelor's degree - Science field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum 2 years of experience

Valid CA Driver's License (if required by role)

Knowledge of facility maintenance practices and procedures along with safety and

emergency preparedness.

Skill in interpreting documents such as complex technical procedures, instructions,

manuals, specifications, blueprints and diagrams.

Knowledge of common safety procedures, regulations, and applicable codes.

Knowledge of the Uniform Building Code, Industrial Safety Standards, code

procedures.

Effective written and verbal communication skills to prepare a variety of

correspondence, reports and documentation.

Knowledge of the use of standard organization computer applications, Word, Excel

and other common desktop applications.

Knowledge of the Uniform Building Code, Industrial Safety Standards, code

procedures.

Preferred:

Certification in a specialty skilled/maintenance trade.

Knowledge of OSHA Guidelines

Knowledge of Research Labs

Knowledge of CISCO, Jabber, and other IT systems, apps, etc.
