This candidate is responsible for supervising and actively supporting the day-to-day execution of HVAC and mechanical maintenance activities across the Orlando campus. Serves as a working supervisor responsible for leading HVAC/mechanical maintenance personnel while maintaining hands-on involvement in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment operation, and other mechanical work as operational needs require.

Coordinates daily work execution with the Planner/Scheduler, assigns and directs work within the HVAC/mechanical team, verifies job readiness, responds to emergent maintenance requirements, provides technical guidance, and ensures completed work meets safety, quality, documentation, and operational requirements. Supports planned equipment outages and shutdowns, coordinates work involving specialized mechanical contractors when required, and serves as a technical resource for complex HVAC and mechanical system issues.

Responsible for developing technician capability, reinforcing safe work practices, monitoring work quality and productivity, supporting root-cause troubleshooting, and ensuring maintenance activities are properly documented and closed within LMBuildings. Works closely with Maintenance leadership, other trade supervisors, Engineering, ESH, contractors, and site customers to maintain reliable facility HVAC and mechanical infrastructure.

Primary responsibilities include personnel supervision, daily maintenance execution, hands-on HVAC/mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, work assignment, technical leadership, equipment outage support, contractor coordination, safety and quality oversight, technician development, work order documentation, and maintenance performance support.

Standard Job Description: Supervises employees or outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair utilities systems, buildings, and equipment via one or more of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, air-conditioning, heating, painting, and/or general maintenance. Sets priorities and performs forecasting and allocates the resources needed to complete all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Journeyman-level or equivalent experience performing HVAC and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and equipment operation in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, campus, or similar facilities environment
  • Experience leading, supervising, directing, or providing technical leadership to HVAC/mechanical maintenance personnel
  • Experience troubleshooting commercial or industrial HVAC equipment and associated mechanical systems
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and mechanical infrastructure and equipment
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, equipment schematics, sequences of operation, technical manuals, and equipment documentation
  • Working knowledge of HVAC/mechanical safety practices, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable codes and standards
  • Ability and willingness to perform hands-on HVAC/mechanical maintenance activities while also supervising day-to-day team execution
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities, emergent maintenance conditions, and operational requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access/security requirements


Desired Skills

  • Experience supervising HVAC/mechanical maintenance personnel in an industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, commercial, or large campus environment
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting air handling units, rooftop units, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, boilers, variable air volume systems, exhaust systems, and associated mechanical infrastructure
  • Experience troubleshooting HVAC controls, sensors, actuators, variable frequency drives, sequences of operation, and building automation system interfaces
  • Experience with hydronic heating and cooling systems, chilled water, condenser water, and associated pumps, valves, and distribution equipment
  • Experience coordinating planned HVAC/mechanical outages, shutdowns, equipment replacements, or other work affecting facility operations
  • Experience troubleshooting complex or recurring HVAC/mechanical failures and supporting root-cause analysis
  • Experience coordinating work performed by specialized HVAC/mechanical contractors
  • Experience utilizing LMBuildings, Maximo, or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Experience reviewing preventive maintenance requirements, work orders, job plans, and maintenance documentation
  • Experience developing or mentoring HVAC/mechanical technicians and providing technical guidance in the field
  • Familiarity with applicable OSHA requirements, refrigerant handling requirements, and HVAC/mechanical safe-work practices
  • Experience coordinating HVAC/mechanical work with other facility trades, Engineering, ESH, contractors, and operational customers
  • Strong leadership, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and decision-making skills in an active operational environment


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $72500.00 - $134600.00

The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
