The qualified candidate must be able to lead an engineering group to effectively meet plant requirements for safety and quality as well as the program requirements for cost and schedule. Technical, project management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills are strongly needed.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Your Role and Impact:
  • Proven project management background for large fabrication/construction-related efforts
  • Experience recruiting and managing a team of engineers across programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are a must, and proven leadership of cross-functional teams in resolving complex technical issues (product and processing equipment).
  • Sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes.
  • Experience with production manufacturing systems preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience with solid rocket motor manufacturing and processing

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degreein Engineering with 8 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience.
  • No clearance required to start
  • minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in design, process, quality, etc.
  • Experience managing a team of engineers across disciplines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are a must, and proven leadership of cross-functional teams in resolving complex technical issues (product and processing equipment).
  • Sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes.
  • Experience with propellant/explosives.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with both high-hazard and inert processes is required.
  • Knowledge of configuration management.
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems - AutoCAD preferred
  • Strong Facilities Engineering background highly desired


PreferredQualifications:
  • Computer skills using MS software - Microsoft Project knowledge desired
  • Knowledge and understanding of EPLM, Maximo, Costpoint and Cognos.
  • Knowledge of hazardous location requirements and standards.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics (i.e. electrical schematics, PIDs, building layouts, etc.).
  • Knowledge of PLC's, Discrete and Analog I/O, PID Tuning, Variable Frequency Drives, Safety Relays, Understanding of Power Distribution, Lightning Protection, Lighting, Understanding of Networking IT/OT.


  • Understanding of the following Codes: National Electric Code NFPA 70, NFPA 70E Arc Flash and NFPA 780 Lightning Protection Systems.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,200.00 - $208,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date. However, this timeline may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.
