Facilities Director The Facilities Director provides the daily administrative leadership for planning, design, engineering, construction and preventative maintenance of all
hospital owned properties. Coordinates Facility Services with the hospital's Mission and Value Statements. Establishes and maintains capital project budgets and schedules. Serves as liaison with governmental agencies, acquiring necessary approvals assuring compliance with relevant codes. Develops long range plans for the efficient operation and maintenance of facilities, grounds and utility systems. Serves on various committees including the Hospital Safety Committee and Infection Control Committee. The highest priority is to be given to the safety and well being of the patients, staff and visitors.
Education: High school education or equivalent. College degree in applicable field preferred. Experience or training in light plumbing, electrical, heating/air conditioning, wall and floor finishing, painting and grounds care are required. Experience or training in hospital facility maintenance and safety are desired.
Experience: Facilities management experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Detailed knowledge of hospital specific codes and standards for construction, renovations and operations including Joint Commission, NFPA, OSHA, ADA, CDC, UBC, City of Gunnison Land Development Code, FAA, FCC, US Secret Service and AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals and Health Care Facilities. Working knowledge of building trades including Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC & Carpentry. Knowledgeable in preventative maintenance scheduling. Knowledgeable in capital planning and budgeting. Experienced coordinator of architectural, engineering and construction services. Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office suite of products.
Skills and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and review monthly operational budgets, position control budgets, and financial statements; develop budgets for areas of assigned responsibility
- Provide oversight and project management of hospital buildings and remodeling projects, including planning, design, bidding, construction, and project completion
- Maintain hospital facilities, grounds, equipment, and furnishings, or delegate responsibilities as appropriate
- Maintain and oversee hospital security systems, communications systems, building access, and emergency power systems
- Ensure compliance with Life Safety Code, Environment of Care Standards, Joint Commission requirements, and other applicable regulatory standards
- Oversee preventive maintenance, operation, testing, replacement, and repair of fire alarm systems, fire safety systems, medical gas systems, utilities, and building infrastructure
- Coordinate the Equipment Management Program, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and documentation of medical equipment
- Adhere to and promote legal, ethical, safety, and compliance standards while collaborating with contractors, regulatory agencies, and hospital departments to support facility operations
Compensation: $1,688.80/weekly - $2,400.00/weekly DOE
