Facilities Capital Engineer

JLL is seeking a Facilities Capital Engineer to join our team!

This exciting opportunity is responsible for facilities capital engineering support for operations and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment assets. In coordination and full collaboration with the Reliability & Asset Services COE, the Facilities Capital Engineer is responsible for day-to-day facility operations and long-term reliability engineering. Working closely with the local client Capital Engineering team and partnering with client Operations team, you will drive infrastructure capital projects and improvements while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards (client standards, NFPA, PSM, OSHA, etc.).

Position Responsibility of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Recognizes that assignments are broad in nature and require appreciable originality and ingenuity to complete them and considerable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.


Capital Engineering & Planning
  • Ensure all site infrastructure adheres to applicable codes and standards including the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. Conduct regular assessments and implement corrective actions to maintain continuous compliance across all facilities.
  • Lead infrastructure planning and renewal programs for mechanical and electrical systems. Develop capital plans that prioritize system upgrades, replacements, and expansions based on condition assessments, lifecycle analysis, and business requirements.
  • Implement standard operating procedures for mechanical and electrical operations and maintenance activities. Establish best practices that enhance system reliability, extend asset lifecycles, and ensure consistent execution across all sites.
  • Identify and champion projects that optimize site capacity and infrastructure utilization. Analyze current systems and operations to uncover opportunities for efficiency improvements, capacity expansion, and enhanced performance that align with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners including engineers, contractors, and vendors to successfully execute infrastructure capital projects. Manage to ensure projects are completed satisfactory.


Reliability Engineering Support
  • Support failure analysis, equipment commissioning, and repair-versus-replace evaluations
  • Manage reliability activities queue as liaison between daily maintenance and strategic initiatives
  • Track and report on program effectiveness

Experience:
  • BS in an Engineering discipline, mechanical or electrical preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in facilities capital engineering, building engineering, or infrastructure engineering
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other applicable building codes and standards
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, capital budgeting, and multi-year renewal programs
  • Experience developing and implementing maintenance procedures and operational standards
  • Experience in critical/ regulated environments preferred (data centers, laboratories, manufacturing environments, automotive, petro-chemicals, pharmaceuticals etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire suppression systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial, critical, manufacturing, labs, or distribution facility types required.
  • Ability to use variety of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and IT tools


Skills
  • Proven ability to make informed recommendations in situations where data sets may be incomplete
  • Ability to balance multiple stakeholder requirements
  • Able to interpret how the organizational goals and strategy translate into service or departmental activity
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to manipulate large amounts of data accurately using different spreadsheet formats

Estimated compensation for this position:

90,100.00 - 111,500.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
