F&B Director

The Food & Beverage Director works closely with the Executive Management Team to oversee Restaurant, Bar, & Banquet functions within the hotel to ensure we maintain high standards of food and beverage quality and service. Including running a profitable business by managing food & beverage cost, inventory and labor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for event management, food and beverage day-to-day functions, including staff, Kitchen Management, guest interactions, office administration duties, vendor communications, and labor costs
  • Oversee the management of staff and partner with HR to help resolve employee relations issues
  • Ensure that operational standards are met in regards to sanitation codes and laws, food storage, and loss prevention
  • Responsible for the management of all aspects of the restaurant, kitchen, dining room and function rooms
  • Work closely with Human Resources to assist with recruiting, training, and performance management
  • Motivates the staff to ensure that guest receives excellent services
  • Directs, implements and maintains great service to guests
  • Supervising cash handling procedures
  • Finding training opportunities through daily activities
  • Inspire the staff to look at job responsibilities through the guests' perspectives
  • Communicate and collaborate with other hotel departments including Sales, Restaurants, Catering, etc. to ensure seamless guest service and creative solutions to venue and event opportunities
  • Solicit local group Food & Beverage business; maintain the services and reputation of the Hotel and act as a management representative to group clients
  • Work with Area Hotel Manager on Marketing, Menu, costing and labor for all F&B outlets.
  • Management of inventory and labor cost controls.


Qualifications/Skills:
  • Must be willing to work long hours and sometimes unpredictable hours which may include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Culinary background is highly preferred
  • Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to multitask and think quickly when under pressure
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs plus stand, walk and move around during majority of the day
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or Hotel & Restaurant Management is preferred
  • At least 2 years of food & beverage management experience is required. Previous experience in supervising food & beverage team in a full-service boutique or luxury hotel environment is preferred
  • Basic computer skills is required. Prior experience using Microsoft Office and knowledge of standard restaurant and bar operations technology including Silvareware and Open Table is preferred
  • Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal. Conversational abilities in Spanish also desired
  • Active Food Handler's certificate.
