Description
**This recruitment will establish an eligibility list valid for 6 months to fill current and future vacancies**

Under the direction of the Director of Extended Student Services, plan, organize, and assist in the supervision of the District's Extended Student Services (ESS) program; implement, coordinate, and monitor new operations and program changes; administer ESS staff development in-service program(s) for assigned staff; train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Examples of Duties
  1. Supervise the overall day-to-day functions of the ESS Department ensuring implementation of program objectives. E
  2. Routinely visit school sites to verify adherence to appropriate federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to before/after school childcare programs; prepare detailed reports for program operations. E
  3. Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff and recommend personnel actions; interview, select, and train employees; address complaints and resolve problems. E
  4. Plan, develop, and conduct professional growth in-service training, orientation training, staff meetings, and disaster preparedness. E
  5. Participate in planning, developing, and administering the department budget and financial plans. E
  6. Establish and maintain appropriate purchasing procedures and tracking methods. E
  7. Develop and maintain customer service relations with internal and external stakeholders. E
  8. Communicate with other administrators, personnel, and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, and exchange information; resolve issues and conflicts; develop policies and procedures to encourage effective and efficient management controls. E
  9. Communicate with parents and community agencies regarding various aspects of the ESS program. E
  10. Develop and supervise the use of technology in ESS operations; identify, recommend, and assist with implementing new system applications as required to improve efficiency and productivity. E
  11. Participate in district committees such as disaster team, strategic planning, preschool articulation, youth employment, risk management and health services. E
  12. Stay abreast of best practices, laws, regulations, policies, and emerging technologies related to childcare operations and communicate to appropriate department personnel.
  13. Assume responsibility for operating the ESS program in the absence of the Director.
  14. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a closely related field, and five (5) years of responsible supervisory level experience in a school district before/after school childcare program. Additional education or years of experience may be substituted to meet the minimum qualifications.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Valid certifications provided by American Heart Association, American Red Cross or District approved provider for First Aid, Adult/Child CPR and AED. Online certifications will be accepted from these vendors as long as a hands-on skills assessment is completed. Recertification to maintain current/valid status is a condition of employment.

Extended Student Services Operations Supervisor - The ESS Operations Supervisor plans, organizes, and assists in the implementation, coordination, and supervision of the District's ESS program.

Extended Student Services Supervisor - The ESS Supervisor plans and coordinates the operations and supervision of an ESS program at a school site.
