As an Expert II, Data Science 6 Cell and Gene Therapy, you will combine cutting-edge computational biology, bioinformatics, and data science to unlock insights from next-generation sequencing and multi-omics datasets. Working alongside scientists, bioengineers, and development teams, you will help shape innovative therapies by developing robust analytical approaches, driving data-informed decisions, and advancing research that has the potential to improve patients' lives worldwide.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze multi-omics datasets to generate insights supporting cell and gene therapy research and development.

  • Develop and maintain reproducible bioinformatics pipelines for sequencing and candidate evaluation workflows.

  • Evaluate genome integrity, therapeutic performance, and safety of cell and gene therapy candidates.

  • Apply statistical and computational methods to deliver robust, high-quality data analyses.

  • Create clear visualizations and presentations for technical and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Partner with laboratory teams to design experiments and define effective analysis strategies.

  • Document analytical methods, workflows, and findings in line with quality standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biostatistics, or Systems Biology; or Master's degree with relevant industry experience.

  • Experience analysing next-generation sequencing or other high-throughput biological datasets.

  • Proficiency in Python, R, or similar scientific programming languages.

  • Experience using cloud computing platforms or high-performance computing environments.

  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, experimental design, and data visualisation techniques.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.

Novartis Compensation Summary:

The salary for this position is expected to range between $114,100 and $211,900 per year.

The final salary offered is determined based on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.

Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards. US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, life and disability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a

variety of other benefits. In addition, employees are eligible for a generous time off package including vacation, personal days, holidays and other leaves.
