Are you interested in working on engineering challenges associated with the reentry systems deployed as part of our Nation's premiere strategic ballistic missile and long-range strike hypersonic weapon systems? Do you enjoy solving challenging problems with a multi-talented team of engineers? We are seeking an engineer to help us perform developmental design assessments, performance assessments, and data analysis for strategic reentry systems. These reentry systems are an integral part of our Nation's strategic deterrent and may contain conventional or nuclear warheads. As a member of the team, you will help to scope and guide analysis and participate in the integration and testing of various reentry systems. We are looking for an experienced Reentry Systems Engineer who is ready to contribute to various tasking in a fast-paced environment. You must be willing to take the initiative and be comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment. Some of the traits we are looking for include: • You are a collaborator and a leader who enjoys working with teams • You can give and receive feedback effectively • You have a love of learning and consistently ask relevant questions • You are detail-oriented and able to deep-dive into an analysis, system, or topic • You are team-oriented and are more interested in getting the job done right than who gets the credit As a Reentry Systems Engineer you will... • Conduct engineering analysis and assess the performance of reentry systems • Lead trade studies on various aspects of reentry systems • Review & analyze reentry system design, production, flight test data to understand system performance • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to advise government and industry partners on engineering challenges and design trades • Produce reports and presentations to communicate findings to team members and stakeholders, including government and industry partners • Have the opportunity to work on reentry systems throughout all phases of the product life-cycle from development through deployment and retirement Qualifications You'll meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you • Have a B.S. in a relevant engineering field (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience • Have knowledge of key reentry subject areas such as aerodynamic performance, flight dynamics, and/or subsystem/component performance and demonstrated experience applying this knowledge in a professional capacity • Have experience or knowledge in design, integration, and/or testing of hypersonic and/or nuclear deterrent systems • Have familiarity with Reentry System design, production, and testing, including flight testing • Have strong computer experience and programming skills, including MATLAB and SIMULINK • Have analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate alternatives and implement solutions • Are able to work and effectively interact with colleagues and multi-disciplinary teams both internally and externally of different experience levels and backgrounds including industry and military personnel • Are willing and able to travel occasionally to attend meetings and/or field tests at other government contractor sites (approx. 30-35 days per year) • Are comfortable working in closed area facilities • Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written • Have initiative, interest in skill development (both your own skills and the skills of others), and the flexibility to accept assignments of varied scope and skill • Hold a Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. Citizenship You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you... • Have a graduate degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience • Have previous experience with Navy and/or Air Force strategic reentry systems (i.e., ICBM and/or SLBM weapon systems) • Have an extensive background in some or all of the following categories: Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), aerothermal analysis, aerodynamics, aerospace vehicle dynamics, flight test engineering, vehicle functional performance analysis, and/or requirements management/verification. • Have previous design and/or analysis experience for related missile and reentry subsystems • Have experience working with Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) laboratories, plants, and partner organizations. • Have experience with stockpile or developmental nuclear deterrent systems, including experience working with flight test articles such as Joint Test Assemblies (JTAs) • Experience with bench, laboratory and flight body instrumentation, including data collection, processing, and analysis. • Currently have an active Top Secret Clearance Minimum Rate $100,000 Annually Maximum Rate $245,000 Annually
