Full Job Description
You will serve as an EXERCISE PLANS OFFICER in the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC) of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.

Duties

Help

  • You will serve as as a ground combat element exercise planner and developer in support of this organization's formal learning program: Marine Corps Live, Virtual, and Constructive Training Environment (LVC-TE).
  • You will serve as Supervisor of the Exercise Control Section providing direction Io one Captain, one MSgt, one GySgt, GS-12 and GS-09 employees, in addition to providing oversight to 25 contracted employees.
  • You will balance workload among staff and functional areas based on priorities, consideration of difficult requirements of assignments, and competing requirements for organizational resources to increase effectiveness of operations.
  • You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, executing, and conducting pre and post-exercise actions for advanced individual and advanced collective training events.
  • You will attend coordination meetings, conferences and Working Groups in order to support exercise design, execution, and furth the ground combat element's training requirements and objectives with senior decision makers.
  • You will develop performance plans and assess civilian and military subordinate performance.
  • You will author awards for personnel deserving recognition for their actions, serve on selection panels for vacant positions; proposing discipline, approving leave.
  • You will inform and advise the Officer In Charge (OIC) on all aspects of Exercise Training preparation, coordination, changes, execution, Major Scenario Event List (MSEL) and After Action Review (AAR).

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Supervising or leading military, civilian, and contractor personnel in planning, designing, coordinating, and executing large-scale, pre- and post-exercise actions for advanced collective training events. This includes applying comprehensive knowledge of joint/combined military operations, utilizing Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training systems to build master scenarios, and managing project resources, risks, and multi-million dollar budgets to achieve strategic readiness objectives.
