Job Description Summary
Summary/Purpose

This role serves as the Executive – Global Compliance for GE HealthCare's Advanced Imaging Solutions (“AIS”) segment, a global business with annual revenue of nearly $15 billion. The successful candidate will lead and enhance the ethics & compliance function across AIS's global operations, providing strategic leadership on compliance program design, risk mitigation, policy development, compliance counseling, investigations and corrective action, and governance.

Key areas of focus include: (i) serving as the principal compliance advisor and business partner to AIS leadership; (ii) building, implementing and continuously improving a global compliance program tailored to AIS's business and risk profile; (iii) partnering closely with global and regional compliance colleagues to drive program execution across regions; (iv) leading compliance communications, training and culture-building initiatives; (v) conducting risk assessment and driving mitigation plans, with particular focus on third-party, anti-corruption, and healthcare fraud & abuse risk; (vi) co-chairing the AIS Compliance Review Board and driving compliance governance with business leadership; (vii) supporting investigations and ensuring timely, appropriate corrective action; (viii) evaluating compliance metrics to identify trends and conduct root cause analysis; (ix) supporting due diligence and integration on M&A, investments, joint ventures and other strategic transactions; and (x) monitoring emerging regulatory and enforcement trends relevant to the medical imaging industry.

Job Description

You will be part of the AIS Legal and Compliance Team, reporting directly to the General Counsel, Advanced Imaging Solutions, with a strong dotted-line relationship to GE HealthCare's Chief Compliance Officer. As a member of the Global Compliance leadership team, you will coordinate closely with the Global and Regional Compliance teams and other Segment Compliance leaders.

Essential Responsibilities

Program & Governance

  • Establish, maintain and continuously enhance a compliance program infrastructure aligned with local laws, industry standards (e.g., the AdvaMed Code of Ethics) and GE HealthCare policy across AIS's global footprint.
  • Co-Chair the AIS Compliance Review Board (“CRB”) to drive real-time, relevant discussions of compliance topics, risks, mitigations and program efforts with business leadership.
  • Own the AIS Compliance Risk Assessment and drive resulting mitigation plans in coordination with global compliance leadership.
  • Develop compliance metrics and dashboards, in coordination with the global team, to provide AIS and enterprise leadership with clear indicators of compliance health.
  • Monitor internal and external compliance trends, industry compliance failures, and imaging-specific and broader healthcare regulatory requirements, including DOJ enforcement trends and OIG guidance.

Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary compliance point of contact for AIS leadership, representing Compliance on the AIS Leadership Team.
  • Navigate effectively within a matrixed organization, partnering with regional and global compliance, legal, finance, HR, quality & regulatory, and other functions to deliver value at scale.

Risk Mitigation, Investigations & Transactions

  • Identify, assess and mitigate third-party, anti-corruption/FCPA, healthcare fraud & abuse (e.g., the Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act), and other compliance risks specific to AIS's global commercial model, including distributor and dealer networks.
  • In conjunction with regional compliance teams, Ombuds and investigations teams, support GE HealthCare's open reporting program and in-business investigations; support high-risk investigations conducted by the privileged investigations team in legal.
  • Coordinate with the global compliance team and business owners on regular monitoring and audits, identifying trends and conducting root cause analysis to drive requisite improvements.
  • In collaboration with GE HealthCare's Chief Compliance Officer and the General Counsel, AIS, support due diligence and integration on compliance topics in mergers, acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures and other complex business transactions.

Training, Communication & Culture

  • Provide training and guidance to the business on GE HealthCare's Spirit & The Letter, Code of Ethics and Integrity, and other global, regional and business policies, including interactions with healthcare professionals, government/regulatory bodies and third parties.
  • With the global compliance team, develop timely and relevant compliance communications and training to embed the program into day-to-day activities and build a culture of unyielding integrity.

Other

  • Any other responsibilities identified by the General Counsel, AIS, GE HealthCare's Chief Compliance Officer, or the business from time to time.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in compliance, risk mitigation, legal, operational and/or other relevant assurance areas, preferably within a multi-national healthcare, medical device, or life sciences company.
  • Deep expertise in healthcare fraud and abuse laws (e.g., the U.S. Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act), anti-corruption laws (e.g., FCPA, UK Bribery Act), third-party/distributor compliance, and industry codes (e.g., the AdvaMed Code of Ethics).
  • Proven track record building and scaling effective global ethics & compliance programs, and working effectively across multiple regions and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leadership and driving sustainable cultural and organizational change at scale.
  • Experience supporting compliance due diligence and integration in M&A, investments, joint ventures, or other complex business transactions.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to detect emerging compliance and industry trends and develop appropriate, risk-based responses.
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of a matrixed global organization, including with boards and executive leadership.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex compliance topics and persuasively deliver clear, well-reasoned recommendations to business stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze and translate policy into practical, scalable business processes.
  • Ability to respond to global/cultural sensitivities and operate with due discretion, objectivity and independence.
  • Willingness to engage directly with business segments and teams on compliance topics that arise in day-to-day activities — proactively engaging with clients and colleagues to prevent, detect and respond to compliance issues.
  • Energetic, self-starter with a track record of innovation in compliance program design and bias for action in mitigating known or emerging risk areas.
  • Unquestioned integrity and ethics in business and personal conduct.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.

Desired Characteristics
  • JD (or global equivalent), Master's degree, LLM, CCEP certification or equivalent advanced degree (desired, not required).
  • Experience in the medical imaging, medical device, or broader medtech industry.
  • Experience with DOJ enforcement trends, OIG advisory opinions, and Corporate Integrity Agreements in the healthcare sector.
  • Familiarity with aggregate spend reporting and transparency requirements (e.g., Open Payments).

We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $208,000.00-$312,000.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
