Overview:
Top European Bank with a strategic focus on significantly expanding its U.S. corporate and investment banking franchise is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Securitization professional to contribute to the development and build out of its Securitization financing and Term ABS platform. This role will be primarily focused on client marketing and transaction origination & execution but will also oversee risk evaluation and transaction data modeling activities conducted by junior staff and client transaction management and monitoring. The business will develop expertise across asset classes relevant to BBVA's corporate and institutional clients including trade accounts receivable, consumer auto loans and leases, commercial equipment loan & leases, consumer installment loans, credit cards, cell phone device receivables, digital infrastructure assets (data centers and fiber) and other flow and non-flow assets. The individual will collaborate closely with the Head of Securitization, the Bank's client coverage officers, Risk team and senior management to develop new business and support the strategic growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Utilize deep client relationships developed throughout their career to strengthen BBVA's relationships with new and existing clients.
- Collaborate with Head of Securitization and Client Coverage Officers to identify and prioritize securitization opportunities across asset classes and industries.
- Originate and execute securitization/Term ABS transactions across traditional and emerging asset classes relevant to BBVA's clients.
- Prepare and present client marketing pitches and financing proposals (term sheets, RFP responses, etc).
- Coordinate legal document preparation, review and negotiation with clients supported by in-house and external legal counsel.
- Create financial cashflow models used for structuring transactions of various asset classes.
- Oversee the ongoing management of existing client transactions including support for amendments, renewals and waivers.
- Stay informed on general markets and specifically on securitization markets.
- Regular dialogue with rating agencies on transactions.
- Support internal projects and strategic initiatives relevant to the Securitization team.
- Act as a liaison for the Securitization team managing inquiries and flow of information related to the product with all internal stakeholders.
- Represent BBVA and the Securitization team at industry conferences and events.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Identify and support relevant product cross sell with clients where applicable.
- Recruit, train and mentor junior securitization team members.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in securitization/ABS role at a financial institution active in the ABS market.
- Demonstrated experience originating and executing securitization financing transactions across a variety of securitized asset classes.
- Understanding of market-based securitization rating methodologies and related data analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of risk assessment tools, transaction modelling approaches and data analytics.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of securitization financing legal documentation.
- Understanding of securitization regulatory standards including risk weight and capital calculations associated with securitization transactions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Effective client relationship and transaction management capabilities.
- Strong communication skills needed to effectively convey complex information to clients, BBVA senior management and risk partners.

- Fluent in English (bilingual in Spanish a plus but not required)

- Hold active FINRA licenses (SIE, 7, 63, 79) as applicable
With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $300,000 to $350,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
