Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:


The Executive Director is the driving force behind theGlobal Honors Program-shaping its direction, championing its mission, andleading its continued growth and evolution. This role calls for an innovativeand collaborative leader who will articulate and advance a compelling strategicvision for Global Honors, positioning it as a distinctive, high-impact academicexperience within Belmont University and beyond.

The Executive Director is responsiblefor setting and advancing the strategic vision of the program, ensuringalignment with the university's mission and long-term institutional priorities.This includes identifying opportunities for growth and innovation, guiding theprogram's evolution in a dynamic global education landscape, and stewardingthat vision through effective decision-making, collaboration, and communicationwith key stakeholders across the university.

Recruitment & Admissions
  • In coordination with the VP for Enrollment Services, theExecutive Director serves as a key ambassador for the program to attract andselect a dynamic and diverse cohort of highly motivated students.
  • Develop program recruitment goals and implement strategies that support university enrollment goals including student retention.
  • Communicate the distinct value of the Global Honors experience to prospective students and families.
  • Lead two weekly admissions sessions for on-campus visitors - Monday & Friday at 12:15pm.
  • Engage in one-on-one virtual meetings with prospective students and families.
  • Represent Global Honors at Preview Days, Be Belmont events, and other key recruitment opportunities.
  • Review Global Honors admissions files in collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director.

Personnel
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of facultyand staff dedicated to student success and program excellence:
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the Director and Assistant Director, setting clear goals and fostering professional growth.
  • Recruit and develop exceptional Global Honors Faculty Fellows in collaboration with the Director, preparing them to deliver signature and foundational HON courses
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and administrative management of adjunct faculty.

Budget Management
  • Strategically steward the program's financial resources tosupport its mission and long-term sustainability:
  • Develop and manage an annual budget aligned with program priorities and institutional goals.
  • Forecast and plan for faculty needs, including adjunct hires, and coordinate budget requests with the Provost's Office.

Curriculum
  • Champion a distinctive and transformative academicexperience that sets Global Honors apart:
  • Ensure a rigorous, innovative, and globally focused curriculum that challenges and inspires students.
  • Oversee the Honors Core (Signature & Foundational courses, and Scholars Collaboratives) as a dynamic alternative to the BELL Core.
  • Lead ongoing assessment and continuous improvement of the curriculum to ensure relevance and excellence.

Academic Oversight
  • Ensure seamless academic operations and a high-qualitystudent experience from entry to completion:
  • Oversee advising, course development, and registration processes to support student success.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Honors courses in collaboration with faculty and academic leadership.
  • Direct the Global Honors Faculty Fellows Program, working closely with Deans and Associate Deans across all undergraduate colleges.
  • Foster strong cross-college partnerships that enrich the interdisciplinary nature of the program.
  • Oversee the Global Honors Council.
  • Manage processes related to academic integrity and student care with professionalism and care

Marketing & Communications
  • Shape and amplify the story of Global Honors to internaland external audiences:
  • Partner with admissions, marketing, and communications teams to develop compelling messaging across website, print materials, and social media.
  • Clearly articulate the value and distinctiveness of the Global Honors experience.

Development & Alumni Engagement
  • Help build a lasting community of Global Honors alumni andsupporters:
  • Initiate and grow alumni tracking and engagement efforts.
  • Leverage alumni stories to highlight program impact and support advancement opportunities.

Faculty Instructor (25%)
  • Teach two HON courses per academic year, contributingdirectly to the intellectual and academic life of the program.

  • Knowledge of the programs and services offered by Belmont University. Interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
